I had a dream last night that Poli was a guest performer at the UK NF...it was amazing
That would literally blow my mind

To be honest, I'm just waiting for the BBC to announce something, anything! Having the songs only 4 days before the final is insane, they're not bloody SVT

Can't believe its 3 weeks tomorrow and two weeks on Monday until we hear the songs. We don't really have any solid rumours or anything its crazy didn't we know the full line up excluding the acts/songs this time last year?

3 weeks to knock this chest infection on the head otherwise I'm going to be that annoying one, coughing my lungs up all night. Urgh!

Still need to go through the remainder of the Hungarian songs, but I just really cba. It's always a chore and never a pleasure. Doubt there's anything better than Totova anyway.

This is extremely helpful. Thank you.

And yes I'm completely behind on NF songs, only heard Finland and Estonia so far.

So, my first Eurovision post of the 2017 season! And just to confirm, the UK have decided upon another public selection which will take place on Friday January 27th and will be aired not on BBC Four but promoted to BBC Two? The 6 songs will be revealed on Monday January 23rd. Have I got all that information right?

I thought last year that the songs were released online on the monday with Ken Bruce playing two per day Tuesday - Thursday with the live final on the Friday?

It does seem a bit counterproductive when you're to trying to sell tickets - come and see a concert but we'll only tell you who's singing four days beforehand. A lot of tickets still unsold by the looks of it, maybe that might change when they do announce the artists, hard to say.

All present and correct then we have 6 weeks to get our act out on any NF that will have them, we will all be sick of them by the end

At least the BBC are making the effort! Joe and Jake was a good entry - let down by placing in the contest and poor staging. If we can build on that then we might finish on the left! Are Ukraine continuing the Swedes scoring from last year? I didn't like that.

I thought at this point last year we were still having rumours of Nicholas McDonald and that group made up of the, The Voice girls being involved in the national final?

The full line up excluding the acts and songs is nothing at all - which is exactly where we're at now...

Am I just being really thick?

I think I'll save the joys of A Dal until the actual show. That way all the crap ones just merge into one. I know how you feel and sympathise, I've been down with the lurgi since Christmas Eve! Not in any way fun.

I was actually fine with it when it came to the show, the run up I was totally negative, although Czechia getting 0 and then the UK only getting 8 points after a modest result with the juries was really deflating.

Yes, I thought it was cruel and was a demoralising system because for Czechia getting nothing was really mean.

But yes I assume it's staying.

I hope they build on last year though after getting their first final placing, I've appreciated both songs in their return.

Nope, he was an expert stage designer, I think.

Selfies. He gave us selfies. Wasted your money there, Beeb.

Good grief since Christmas Eve! Hope you've still been able to enjoy the holidays anyway. Bit shit though. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

We got Meryl Streep, what more do you want?

I don't see how the Czech Republic getting 0 was mean, they would have come last under the old system so it actually helped them!

Getting 0 wasn't mean, it was announcing it to the world and his wife that was the mean part for me. They could have just not said anything. we'd have worked it out soon enough, but the casual viewing audience would probably never have given a thought to how many they got.

Now they've started the tradition though, I think we should run a thread closer to the contest where we predict who will get the big fat zero.

An idea might be just to reveal the top ten countries public votes and just add the remaining countries graphically -like they do with 1 - 10 points in the first part of the scoring. I agree. It wasn't the fact Czech got zero. It was the "nah nah nah nah nah Czech got nothing!" type revelation that I thought was a bit cruel.

It was hard enough to follow as it was last year, I had no time to take in the jury votes
