Here's hoping Russia's dummy throwing is only temporary until cooler heads prevail and they rethink the decision.

Hello guys!
Sorry to self advertise, but I made a game on the Strictly forums where 20 of this year's Eurovision acts dance, and I need some votes to make a result. Every vote would be appreciated. Thanks ![]() http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showt...1#post82626601 |

Another very dignified interview from Sergey here, wouldn't be surprised if he comes back and wins like Dima did at some point, could see both him and Margaret on the winners list within the next two or three years potentially.

Off topic post, but was driving through Millstreet this week as I live quite near to it, it's incredible to think that it once hosted Eurovision. It really is a bog-standard town in County Cork with nothing remarkable about it. It still clings on to the Eurovision legacy as well, there's even a mural in the town centre with the flags of all the countries that participated that year, which has recently been renovated!
Anyone got any particular memories of the competition that year or did anyone on here go? I was only a toddler so obviously have none, but my dad worked outside the venue that night and was following the competition on a radio, which was a few seconds behind the actual proceedings. He tells me he knew Ireland had won before it came through on the radio because of the scream that emitted from the hall when Ireland got the final 12. Wish I was old enough to remember it all ![]() . Of course Barbara Dex appeared in that dress which spawned the now yearly competition. Sonia surprised us all by actually proving she could sing and did much much better than the UK thought she would. Spain included "Rap"(Albeit mildly) for the first time in the contest and of course there was the pre selection where HUN, SLK, ROM and EST failed to qualify for the final itself.

I don't know if you've seen this - but Lana Del Rey doesn't know when she's in the presence of greatness

![]() ![]() That will be a nice end to what promises to be a great day ![]() Oh, I've just pre-ordered the DVD from Amazon, they're showing it at £19.99 - but it's likely to be cheaper on release as I'm sure I usually pay £10-15 by the time I get it? |

Doing a song far superior to that dirge Bosnia and Herzegovina sent this year. To think that was potentially the last ever Bosnia and Herzegovinian entry
![]() ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLrXmTB8OaY#t=2m10s I liked Bosnia, I thought it was well staged and deserved to qualify over generic stuff like Malta and Azerbaijan, although I really liked Greece too, Euro-rap ftw! : ![]() Would be interested in watching 2005 as well at some point to remind myself what it was like when Ukraine last hosted.

I spent an inordinate amount of time actually just watching the postcards, as I kept seeing the hotel I've booked in Kiev ![]() http://eurovoix.com/2016/06/03/esc17...rovision-2017/ I just hope wherever they choose is a decent size arena, the 2005 venue looks like it was quite small, maybe 6,000 smaller than Globen, which was fantastic. But I don't really know where else they can hold it unless they do something like Copenhagen did and create something specially for Eurovision, which has the potential to be expensive. |
