The Weedy Review
For those of you reading a Weedy Fantasy Review for the first time, and are rather miffed at my criticism, please don’t cry – I’m mean to all of the songs. Mwuhahahaha!

Dami Im – Standard shouting from Dami. Formulaic (apart from the slightly Irish bit in the middle), and no different to the Eurovision entry. I am distinctly unimpressed.
Mirami – More standard pop pap. I did watch the video through to the end, but they got dressed.
Kyla and Kygo – A whispering non-voice reminiscent of Marianne Faithful (who I didn’t like at all). Whiny non-song.
Madison Avenue – Yawningly tedious dance track.
Alan Walker – If I was Iselin Solheim I’d be pretty pissed that I didn’t get a credit on the song (or at least a ft.) for singing it. Instead some skinny oik is trying to claim all the royalties. More tedious nothingness, allegedly electronic dance music.
Yohanna – I wonder if she’s burnt that toilet roll holder dress yet? Bland ballad that goes nowhere.
Fitz and the Tantrums – This group is described as neo soul. (WTF? I know soul, and this ain’t it). More elevator music, at least its uptempo.
Little Mix – the ugly munters from X Factor are all growed up. The song is a boring shouty wail, of course, and they are singing with a chap whose testicles haven’t dropped yet.
Zara Larsson – So that’s what the Swedes hire going to a costume party (too cold for gorillas) It was the most entertaining part of the song and video. Just another four minutes of scales and tuneless howling.
Medegma Dozhieva – A Burat Mongol singer, so I had high hopes of something a little different. It’s a Ruslana tribute act, with a guitar. I watched this video all the way through as well.
Enrique Englasias – Dull latin upbeat song with some ignorant Panamanian shouting in the middle. Shame security couldn’t keep him out of the studio.
Lucius – Weird arty unwatchable video. Ordinary pop tune with some electronic music.
Francine Jordi – It’s a bit of schlager, and she looks (and dresses) a bit like Rachel Riley, so I’m struggling to find something to complain about. And a key-change, obviously. Tolerable.
Oasis – The best bit was when Land of Hope and Glory was playing…No wonder Blur won.
Rocky Sharpe and Replays – Dreadful doo-wop, and we can see why the best four disappeared to form the Darts. Naturally, the original by the Edsels is much better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6JbemSdORo
Suzanne Vega – Oh joy, a dull folk song. It is perfectly understandable why she is playing to an empty theatre.
Elle King – Country rock pop from a chunky blonde who thinks a lot of herself. Lots of male flesh to delight some of our FMs.
Ida LaFontaine – Oh, it’s a girl - with a name like that I was expecting a drag act. Yet another formulaic pop song, probably a MelFest reject.
Astrid S – More paint-by-numbers pop. But she does have a very pure sounding voice.
Bears Den – A song that needs the first two eternally insipid minutes removed. And then the rest is just a little boring. The 3 minute rule is there for a reason.
Rob Thomas – More X-Factor twaddle. Yawn.
Nina Nesbitt – Ditto.
Kylie Minogue – Boring pop song. Poor Kylie, stuck with dross like this.
Frances – More turgid teenage angst. I went and put the bins out, it was more interesting.
Victoria Wood – Classic. Pudgy northern woman sings nonsense at the piano.
Yuliana Karaulova – And even more tedious whiny angst, even if it is from Russia.
Thunderclap Newman – A song from 1969 which was number one for three weeks - when you took your pocket money and changed it for a piece of plastic (instead of downloading it to your phone and letting your parents pick up the tab). Awesome piano solo. Innovative for its time and even now.
The Veronicas – Didn’t someone enter these last year? Monotonous electronic pop, and we’ve all had dreams about twins, right? Or is it just me…
Ward Thomas – And we’ve all had dreams about sisters as well. Or just me again? English country and western music. Sigh.
Douwe Egberts – And now Dutch country and western music. From a total knob. Next, quick.
Ewelina Wisowska – Polish eye candy to finish with a pop rock song. She can definitely come into the country after Brexit.

Do I have to vote for this garbage? Probably. I can't afford my song to lose a third of its meager number of votes.

At the deadline of submission I am pleased to say I have received a respectable 25 entries (Perfect for a Eurovision final if it wasn't for Italy!!) the whole list of songs will be revealed after the results from Fantasy.

Oh and Nick that is just too funny, poor Chickens!
