You can start PMing submissions now. As long as it's not identical it's pretty much anything goes. Whether it's an upper or downer, different language or a mash-up. I'd rather not have 20+ remixes of the same song though! Here are the previous editions to draw some inspiration and avoid what's already been used.

Submissions close 5pm Sunday 18th September

Happy hunting!

The Slovenians are all over Eurovision! I've been here since Monday and have so far heard If I Were Sorry, Miracle, 1944, If Love Was A Crime and Youniverse.

Tove Lo - Cool Girl - A good start to the playlist
Simple Plan ft. Marai Mai - Jet Lag - It's ok, video certainly lives up to the title of the song.
Daya - Hide Away - Actually been loving this recently.
K3 - Jij Bent De Bom - Really enjoyed this to be honest, the opening really gets you going.
Oh Land - Speak Out Now - Not bad either.
Petite Meller - The Flute - Not for me. Really like the video though.
Yanela Brooks - Mi Gente Arriba - Now this is a tune, really enjoyed this.
Bean - Wildfire - Liking this as well.
Lilit Hovhannisyan - Do El Mi - Again, another good one. Enjoyed this too.
Kievelectro - Parohod Bumazhnyy - Not for me.
Billie Marten - Bird - Enjoying this as well.
The Bangles - Walk Like An Egyptian - Not for me. Still think Samanta Tina pulls of the Egyptian look better though.
Doe Paoro - Nostalgia - Now this is good.
Gavin DeGraw - Fire - Not my cup of tea.
Imany - Don't Be So Shy - Can't believe I never though of entering this, another one I've been addicted to recently.
Rod Stewart - Never Give Up On A Dream - No thanks
Le Kid - Mercy Mercy - Again, another good one. Loving the video too.
Freemasons ft. Katherine Ellis - When You Touch Me - The standard is so high so far! Really enjoyed as well!
Janet Jackson - Love Will Never Do (Without You) - Not for me.
Nightwish - Wishmaster - Not a fan.
Rae Lynn - For A Boy - It's ok.
Emilia - Big Big World - No thanks.
Flume ft. Kai - Never Be Like You - Decent enough.
LP - Lost On You - Again, decent.
Anastacia - One Day In Your Life - Not one of my favourite Anastacia songs.

Supposedly today is the deadline for countries submitting applications to participate at next year's contest. And we're still waiting for countries to confirm for Junior Eurovision.

I guess we'll be hearing a lot about the EBU remaining in talks with certain countries again this year.

Florian Silbereise's schlager credentials are impeccable so does this mean the return of German schlager sung in German by Germans representing Germany?

I imagine the final being something like this....

I can do 26th Sep. How about "Which UK song realised between Jun 1st 2016 and now would you have wanted saved and used as the UK entry for 2017?" (In an ideal world)

Might be quite tricky with release dates being very transparent nowadays re albums and all that, but happy to go with the majority.

I wasn't thinking about being too strict with that rule, just meaning something that wouldn't have been around for eurovision 2016, as opposed to something ftom years ago
Everyone csn have a chance to be Guy Freeman.

Does that include the latest British Gas advert?
"Its more than a feeling..."
Buggrit, that's not a British song. "Bam bam bam bom bam bam, I feel free" , that's British....

Maybe not then. I'm not sure Ken Bruce plays any modern songs.
(Not that I listen to Ken Bruce much either....)

Except when technically they are around and available, like when you get artists that release an album one year and flog it to death releasing singles well into the next.

I have a similar idea as well. Most of the Eurovision artists came from singing competitions like The Voice and X Factor. So, I'm thinking of best performance of a Eurovision artist while they're still in singing competitions.

You'd have to be prepared for the rush of Fm's all trying to enter Samra's Wreaking Ball from The Azeri Voice....

Tove Lo - WTF is she doing to that glass coffin? Good to see she's back to doing her own thing again after that dodgy collaboration phase.

Simple Plan ft. Marai Mai - Ah, Simple Plan. Now that takes me back to my brief teenage emo-phase, although Marai is adding a touch of class to this one.

Daya - So catchy. How did this manage to go global yet skip our charts?

K3 - Cheesy fun. It's no Ushuaia though.

Oh Land - She's been picking the dodgy herbs in that overgrown greenhouse. Picks up in the chorus and is just the right amount of quirky without being annoying.

Petite Meller - She appears to have found some stronger Mongolian gear... This is not what Genghis Khan envisioned for his empire. Amazingly batshit.

Yanela Brooks - Now she seems like great fun and the Caribbean beats are good too.

Bean - This is a very now sounding, hidden gem.

Lilit Hovhannisyan - Armenian Riverdance! Great mix of traditional and modern music styles.

Kievelectro - This playlist has been a good tonic for getting over the horror of DSFE QF2.

Billie Marten - Oh dear I jinxed it. I wanted to drown myself too after listening to that.

The Bangles - A good 80s classic.

Doe Paoro - Doesn't really go anywhere for me.

Gavin DeGraw - I just can't with his voice and the cheesy power to the sisterhood video.

Imany - And CFK was worried about that Russian dick song people keep threatening to send to DSFE. No wonder the Catholic priests keep getting into trouble. All that aside, it's a great tune.

Rod Stewart - I wish Rod would.

Le Kid - Oh My God was fun, but I'm not feeling this overly doo-wop vibe. The melody has a hint of Girls Aloud Can't Speak French about it.

Freemasons ft. Katherine Ellis - I always preferred Freemasons Radio Edits of other peoples songs than their own productions.

Janet Jackson - She's got better in her back catalogue.

Nightwish - Without wanting to invoke the Finnish spirits. I just don't get what the fuss is about over these?

Rae Lynn - She's got the Country drawl down to a fine art. This is pretty good.

Emilia - Gosh I remember this... however some things are best left in the past.

Flume ft. Kai - Another one that was everywhere except the UK. Really like this.

LP - Already had to endure this previously, next door.

Anastacia - Such a classic.
