I know this is a soap thread cliché bar non but maybe it's time the show got a new Producer. It's become very stale and maybe a fresh pair of eyes could give the show a shot in the arm. Unfortunately though there's always the hideous possibility we could end up with Bower Mk2!

Piper's reaction to Lou and Kathy's announcement that they had slept together was priceless. She stole the scene. It's great to have Lou back (even more so as i didn't actually remember where he went).

Steph really brings out a nasty side to me. When the Doctor/therapist woman told her there was no chance whatsoever of her having another child i couldn't help but feel quite pleased and i'm assuming that wasn't the reaction the producers were going for for poor, tragic little Steph! Anything that brings an end to Mark/Steph is fine with me (i'll even take Mark/Elly happening and i hate Elly).

Angus singing again? He's like the new Nina Tucker, only less drippy and more smarmy but equally annoying! I'm hoping he'll be 'discovered' and run away to be a popstar, Elly can tag along as a groupie! I still find it odd that Angus, a guest character seems to be involved in loads of storylines, yet Ben, a permanent character has and continues to feature in barely any (Xanthe dramas don't count).

I just don't care for Xanthe's mother or what she's up to. If i liked Xanthe more i'd probably have been mildly interested but i just don't. I might have missed it as i take such little interst in this storyline but has anyone bothered to ask where she's been for the best part of a year and why she's abandoned her daughter with relatives she'd never even bothered to check out beforehand? Also how old is this other daughter supposed to be? Sometimes Xanthe talks like she's older and other times i get the impression she's younger or have the producers just not made their mind up yet?

Yes - and soon! Fed up with Neighbours being a venue for various paople to promote themselves.

I wish they'd make up their minds up whether she's old enough for an adult relationship or is a child making videos in the garden with her friends. There's no drums and no real mic and the guitars aren't plugged in but that's ok. Also Sonya needs to just butt out ”

Sonya does indeed! And I'd hoped we'd seen the last of Piper and her vlogs! Just waiting for the scene where she makes up to Therese and asks if she can s**g Tyler!

They really do need new scriptwriters as well.

If you remember the absent Piper was always talked about as the older sister, but was eventually brought in as a 15-year-old (probably because there was suddenly a mass exodus of young folk!)

Neighbours has always promoted music and singing careers for as long as I can remember. It's one of my least favourite aspects of the show.

Well as cringe-fests go that was way up there with the best!

Mark is saying it is all going too fast and there it Steph making calls immediately to her sisters! And as for Sonya - yes, butt out.

The music video left me speechless!

Sonya is really determined that they're going to have a baby isn't she? I do wish she'd mind her own business.

Ah Edward it's all so uncalled for. If only his music career would take off and we'd be free of his creepiness.

Coupled with the spectre of Lou's sex life, it's all a bit too much! Yeuchh!

I don't get the whole baby thing, the baby will be Soyna and Marks, so how does that work with Steph? She won't be it's Mum, or even blood related to it, it's just weird, and how will Soyna give it up knowing it's actually her child? It's just getting really silly now.

He's not creepy Well he was that one time he kissed Elly but other than that.

I hope his music takes off too but I think he's a little young yet. At least I can admire his beauty in the meantime

Whenever Leo Tomato flirts with Teeth or Amy, acts tough to Fungus, or talks business, I think of a teenager trying to buy alcohol with a fake ID. I'm not sure whether it's his oversized clothes, youthful features or general uselessness that makes it impossible for me to take him seriously or care one iota about him

I am astonished at this! Controlling Sonya will not give the child up easily and Steph will always have a reminder that this is not her child.

Silly, silly, silly, particularly at the pace it has been taken. It would have been much more subtle to let it happen gradually and a bit more in the background.

I know Neighbours writers are renowned for not doing their homework, but as this arrangement seems to be made through the hospital, I doubt if they would agree. surrogacy means a person carries a child for somebody else, and usually it's done with IVF if the couple want their own child. Even in cases where the surrogate was impregnated by the father ( and I think there have been some) the surrogate was not previously known to the parents.

Given Sonya's controlling nature (this was all her idea!) it was never going to work, and even less likely to if she has Mark's baby. How are Toadie and Steph going to feel about that?

You could see when Sonia was describing pregnancy to Mark (another TMI moment along with Lou's seduction of Kathy ) that there's no way she is not going to bond with this baby - or give it up. It's extremely selfish of her and so unfair to Toadie, Nell and Callum.

Maybe they will break Sonia and Toadie up and put her with Mark. Who knows. But I really, really dislike her interfering and controlling ways.

Poor Toadie seems to have been completely emasculated at the moment. I thought they were going to counselling and "talking things through". I suppose some of this might have been done off-screen but it doesn't look as though poor Toadie has had any input at all.

Do you suppose the scriptwriters are expecting us to be rooting for this? I think the world's gone mad.

It's hard to say. They must have some reason for doing it but the only thing I can see coming of it is Mark and Sonia getting together. Poor Toadie and Nell 😓

I know! Although Mark is very good with Nell as a visitor but Toadie seems to have no input so perhaps he will get back with Dee as she is rumoured to return?

I'm wondering if this is the route it will go down. That Mark and Sonya will both become attached to the baby (as technically it will be their biological child together) leaving Toadie and Steph feeling excluded. Will it lead to Toadie and Steph having an affair? Or will Toadie go back to his other ex-wife Dee?

I must be in the minority here over the music video, I thought it was good fun and classic neighbours......so what if it was cheesy and cringe, that's the whole point!!

I think Toadie will be torn between Dee (depending on why she hasn't come back sooner) and his controlling shrew of a wife who's bulldozing ahead with the surrogacy without giving two hoots for his feelings. I can't see Mark and Sonya together. Sadly I fear Elly will try and get her teeth into him and he's too gormless to notice her trying to seduce him. I think Steph is being carried along with this because she is trying to make Mark happy and knows he wants his own child. As she's not allowed to see Charlie and knows that Adam doesn't need her she's not in any sort of mental state to chose to go down this route.

Agreed. Having a third child will not repair the damage done between Steph and her two sons. She needs to address that or at least come to terms with it before embarking on this surrogacy, I am wondering how attached she will feel to the baby anyway knowing that it is Mark and Sonya's biological child.
