Sonya sat scowling and sulking on the sofa whilst the other three sat at the table trying to have an adult conversation was very telling. Also Paige not getting her own way was a joy to behold too, although being Princess Paige she'll probably end up getting her own way in the end anyway.
Yes, sonia sat with a look of thunder on her face like a spoilt child was very disappointing to see and is what made me really dislike her attitude, there and then...

I've never disliked her more than I do right now and that is saying something.

So true. I really enjoyed today's as it gave me a sense of chickens coming home to roost as both Paige and Sonya had their tyres deflated, if only temporarily. As we know they'll both be pregnant and everybody will rally round, including the father's.
Oh no!!! You can just bet Paige will become even more self absorbed if she becomes pregnant, and as you say Lauren and co will be running around after her like her personal slaves. Why do I get the feeling Paige would be one of those pregnant women who treat being pregnant like a disability from the moment they find out?! I hate Lauren with Paige - she's liked her very own enabler and personal cheerleader. I like Lauren away from Paige though.

Pity Karl wasn't on call to drill a hole in the head of Granny Tomato when she began popping her clogs today

No but the whole point of the morning after pill is to either prevent or delay the release of the ovary which given she checked her cycle would alresdy have happened or to irrritate the Uterus lining so the fertilised ovary can't implant successfully.

So,it could be taken either before or after fertilisation has occurred, By the time they know if she is pregnant, it would be too late for the morning after pill.
I know that, kitkat. Sorry I wasn't clear - I was referring to the comment about Sonia never being prepared to have an abortion. This wouldn't be abortion - it would be preventing a pregnancy. Very different.

Here are some quotes from an Interview that Eve Morey (Sonya) has done on the main DS site.

I think Sonya is a character that you either love or hate. You either go: 'Yes, I relate to her, she's great'. Or you go: 'She is the most annoying bitch, get her off the show'.
Is it hard for you when people get irritated by Sonya?

"I don't really take it personally. She's a character I play. I have a lot of empathy for her and I care about her a lot, but I know what it's like to watch shows and be annoyed by people. Sometimes you don't like what a character stands for and sometimes you just don't like a character's face because they remind you of someone you didn't like in primary school!

"There are so many different reasons why people have reactions to characters. There's also a lot of love for Sonya, which is really nice. But especially on a show like Neighbours, we're put in these crazy situations and we're there to cause drama, so we're bound to ruffle some feathers."
It is good that she understands that Sonya isnt the most loved character by some.

All that conversation going on over the head of little Nell was quite astonishing I thought - does she think the child will not pick up on the tension.

So selfish and controlling and Mark calling it "Sonya's baby" was just the icing on the cake. Dreadful storyline all in all - nearly as bad as the tomato twins!

The look on Paige's face when she realised she had been ousted! Look out Jack.

Surely not, that would be ridiculous, even for Neighbours. How many kids does he have already? 100?

Amy, Elle, Robert and Andrew are his only children. There was Cameron as well but Max Hoyland finished him off so just the four present children for Paul

RE The Tanaka twins - there was a teenage girl on the show in the 80s called Kim Taylor who fell pregnant by a boy named Bradley before leaving the show. She was Asian as well if I recall. I think its been speculated that she could be the boys mother as the ages fit. It would explain why their great-grandmother was introduced instead of simply their grandmother - as their grandmother would have been called Mrs Taylor and given it away (it was mentioned they took the name Tanaka from their stepfather). It seems like an odd choice to introduce their great-grandmother given their age, they must be mid to late 20s. How many people still have a great-grandparent alive at that age?

If the twins are Paul's kids it opens up a whole can of worms with Amy and Lurch, I know it's been done before with Lucy and Glenn (which the BBC refused to show) and Neighbours is a lot more relaxed these days but it's still a bit icky. Not to the level of Mark bringing his jizz round at breakfast time of course . As far as Mark and Sonya go Steph needs to get away from the pair of them. She can take Toadie with her.

I hope this isn't going to be another 'who's the daddy' story.

I don't remember that at all I guess it could be that, though, but it's very obscure if it is and surely not something to make this much of a fuss over story wise. I hope we find out soon, however, because it's just boring the heck out of me.

Good info

The morning after pill is very diffeent to a termination. No, it wouldn't be pleasantemotionally or physically but neither would a full.pregnancy and giving burth. If Sonya isn't prepared to do it because she feels connecyed yo the pregnancy, at onky a couple of days in, it just proves that she subconsciously sees it as her baby and was never just going to be able to hand it over.
It depends on your personal moral code though, I know I could never have done that and I doubt Sonia could either. When you really want a baby your feelings are different and probably not as clinically correct.

I think it's quite a good storyline, myself. It's interesting where it's going and the characters reactions to events. It's well acted and it's certainly getting people talking. As for the twins, that is a dreadful storyline. Boring characters, boring plot, with characters we're not invested in or are particularly well acted.

That's fair enough but the point is that Sonya wasn't supposed to be doing this because she wanted a baby but because Steph and Mark did so their decisiin should be the mist important. If she can't go through with taking the morning after pill she needs to be honest that it is vecause she wanted a babby and has effectively tricked Mark into fathering it.

I know but my point was they were deluding themselves to imagine this wouldn't be her baby, it woud have amazed me if she could have backed off from it before it was done using her genes, now there will be no way she can give it up.

I thought it clear as day both Sonia and toadie wanted another child.

I knew everyone would delight in Paige's take down.

Despite her motivation being personal, Paige did have a valid point about the kids who didn't feel welcome with Jack's involvement. What happens to those kids who won't get the help and support they need? And she's right about Jack - he treated her appallingly. Shame it took her so long to see that she had unrealistic expectations.

I like certain aspects of the surrogacy story. But overall, I can't wait until it's over.

I did feel sorry for David when his great-grandmother told him not to be gay. I actually, kind of, like David and Leo a little more now. I don't care about their search for their father, but the character stuff works for me. On the subject of the bio dad, you so know that the Buddha statue will contain the answer.

Maxine is awful. I liked the way Brad handled that (or should I say Terese?). I liked that they showed Terese reacting to Jacka's and Julie's sentencing, but I wish they would do more of this instead of a quick brief scene of her looking sad. Could have provided some good character stuff.

I thought Paige had a point, too. Some of the kids who use these Youth Centres come from homes where too many restrictions and rules are placed on them and they feel harshly judged already by their family, they'd avoid places like Blaze if they felt they were getting more of the same.

I think it's a generation thing with David's great grandmother or in some cases its because they worry about people giving them a hard time for being gay. I like David, Leo not so much yet but that's only because of this bet he has with Elly.

The lengths that Leo and Elly have gone to over $5 are ridiculous, whoever wins the bet isnt winning much at all, just so stupid to go so far over something so small

Hello! Long time lurker, first time Neighbours poster here This thread has had me in stitches on the bus to work the last few weeks regarding Mark's 'deliveries' so I thought I post a few thoughts.

Going against the grain somewhat I've really grown to like David and his interactions with Aaron, Amy & Leo in particular. I think the actor just needed some time to settle in - I remember feeling the same about Aaron at the start and now he & Amy are two of my favourites. I also feel more chemistry between Aaron & David than I ever did with Aaron & Nate. The two stories I feel hurt the Tanakas' introduction are the endless father search and also David lurking around the hospital for weeks offering help & advice. I wouldn't have minded them just moving into the street with the Great Grandmother being their Grandmother instead.

My other faves are Karl, Susan, Tyler & Piper (although not necessarily in a relationship), the Cannings, Lauren, Ned & Paul. I used to really like Sonya & Steph but not mad on them at the moment. I've a bit of a love/hate thing with Toadie - always have since his introduction!

For me the worst actor on the soap is and has been for a long time Mark. Elly and Brad jump in and out of this category for me a lot as well.
