I did like the tiny cop busting in and arresting Ned whilst telling Brennan he was out of order interviewing him in the coffee shop. Finally a police officer who knows the law.

It's a shame that Brennan then had to take over and make the arrest himself.

You're right. When I went into labour with my first I wore a fitted winter coat to the hospital and every button buttoned and not one gaped.

A woman's size is more to do with the amount of amniotic fluid she is carrying than the baby itself.
With one of mine people kept asking if it was twins - he was 7lbs. With another I was in regular jeans all the way through with loose tops. He was 9lbs. My sister in law went from a size 8 to an 18 and had a six pounder. She'd admit she took the eating for two a little too far though . We are meant to believe that Lauren wore crop tops and denim shorts at 5 months with no visible bump so why not Paige . We all know the termination mentioned at Blaze was leading to Paige threatening one to Jack though so I'd have a fiver on it being his.

Sonya's little smile annoyed me a bit, it wasn't about Mark, Steph or Toadie, it was all about the baby she's wanted for herself all along. I just hope that with Dee coming back that Toadie isn't going to be made the bad guy in this storyline.

I don't like Jack but I hope Paige's baby is his. Typer have enough going on without adding a baby into the mix plus they've already had the Piper/Paige angst and once was enough. What's the point of Jack being made a regular if they're not going to give him any storylines other than being a priest?

They don't seem to write storylines these days where families hang out with anyone besides their own family members they just exist in their own separate bubbles, I hope that changes, the cricket match in the 2017 promo looks promising, I miss the community feeling Neighbours used to have.

It was good to see Lou with a chance of settling down but the reunion with Kathy (who still looks great btw) was a bit glib, considering we never saw this tumultous, turbulent romance on-screen. Lou was long-divorced when he first showed up and we only met Kathy a couple of years ago.

That's true Lou and Kathy's previous relationship took place entirely off-screen. When Lou first appeared in 1988 to try and steal Madge away from Harold it was mentioned he had recently divorced his first wife Kathy. He then disappeared for 4 years before returning in 1992 it was revealed then that he had married and divorced again to a woman called Linda also off-screen. Linda showed up in 1996 which caused problems in Lou and Cheryl's relationship - there was a storyline where her and Lou planned to re-marry in order for her to inherit some money from her aunt who adored Lou and her will stipulated Linda had to be married to him to claim her inheritance. The original ex-wife Kathy however remained an unseen character right up until 2014 when she showed up for the Lauren/Paige secret baby storyline. Would a reunion with third ex-wife Trixie have worked better? At least her and Lou had an onscreen history to draw from?

But that is what would make it more interesting. The whole priest stuff is so predictable, whereas I'm not at all sure how Tyler would react to becoming a father.

You have a point, with Jack it is more predictable. He probably would leave priesthood, propose to Paige but she may say "no" because he is just doing it for the baby and he will be torn about his choices. With Tyler, I am not sure either how he'd react to becoming a father. I do not think he is someone who thinks about children, he can be so impulsive and he does seem like a father type. But I don't think he'd leave Paige and the baby on their own either. But what would be annoying is, if Tyler is going to switch between the Willis sisters all over again, like his only love interest can only be one of the sisters and he switches every few weeks.

Is this seriously off for 4 weeks? WTF? So will we see Christmas down under or will it jump 4 weeks? At some point there has to be a jump in time. Particularly when their phones always tie up with the date it's shown.

No, we now see the show on the same day as the Aussie do. They always have a four week Xmas break, now so do we.

I don't like Tyler as Paige's babys father but not Jack either. Has it been confirmed that Paige is actually pregnant though? Sometimes those home tests aren't accurate.

Perhaps his brother would adopt it. Then Brennan will have his baby, Tyler can be freed from responsibility and we would be free from more priestly angst (not to mention the very inadequate acting).

It will be a bit of a kick in the teeth for Mark, who is so desperate to be a father, if his brother has got his ex pregnant

Yep. Another tick on the pro-Tyler side.

It's a shame channel 5 don't have the rights to show the really old Neighbours episodes, would be good to watch them while we wait for it to come back on.

You'd think as Neighbours is pretty much geared towards us Brits now that they could change their production model. Our soaps go all year and the casts still get time off over Christmas and New Year. Neighbours are missing a trick by going off air for the five weeks when shows have a captive audience!

Why is it any more captive than at any other time of the year? Life goes on pretty much up to midnight Christmas Eve and starts again on Boxing Day these days. And viewing figures are actually lower for everything in Christmas week. It would actually make sense for UK soaps to adopt the Aussie pattern rather than the other way round.

You're much more likely to get a false negative than a false positive.

I know we had a two-week break last year, so they could catch us up to Aussie speed, but didn't we always have a four- week break in the years before that, as we were always two weeks behind them?

If it saves us from the miserable Eastenders on Christmas Day then I'd agree.

Since Neighbours is over for another year, ive decided to do some "Neighbours Awards" which could be quite interesting to see what everyone classes as their favourite moments of the year. Please add your own lists, or if you feel that this is a bad idea then feel free to ignore it!

Best Actor

Stefan Dennis. His portrayal of Paul when he was wrongly convicted of the Hotel Explosion was fantastic. Even though we all knew all the bad things that Paul had done in the past, you still managed to feel very sorry for Paul and that was due to the excellent acting from Stefan Dennis.

Best Actress

Mavournee Hazel. Some fantastic acting from Mavournee this year. Her acting during the Hotel Explosion, when she was informed of Josh's death was amazing. She seems to steal scenes with some amazing performances over the year.

Best Permanent Newcomer

With only Xanthe, Gary, Jack and the Tanaka's to choose from it has to be Gary. Although he has appeared before he was only a temporary character back then and now he has been brought back as a regular we seem to have seen a change from Gary and he has become an incredibly entertaining and fun character. His relationship with Sheila and Xanthe has been fantastic and the Canning family have become on of the best Neighbours families.

Best Guest Character

Ned Willis. Having a vendetta against Brad, falling in love with Lauren, burning Jacka's mums house down. It has been an interesting year with Ned. There seems to be a lot more to come from the character, lets hope he gets a permanent role.

Best Departure

It has to be Josh Willis' death. Very well acted from Harley Bonner and it was one of the most gripping Neighbours scenes in years.

Best Storyline

Hotel Explosion. It had the lot. The best week of Neighbours episodes since the Plane Crash.

Most Improved Character

Sheila Canning. She has really come into her own with more family coming into the show. Sheila when she is angry is just fantastic. Neighbours would be much worse off without her.

Worst Storyline

Fairly random but Aaron just becoming a social media expert and a boxing promoter was way too far fetched.

Worst Actor/Actress

Kip Gamblin. That dreadful acting of a man who has lost his son and father on one day was some of the worst acting you will see. He just couldnt be bothered to put any effort in.

Best Actor

Stefan Dennis. Damien Richardson a close second.

Best Actress

Kate Kendall

Best Permanent Newcomer

Gary easily. Though I like Xanthe and the Tanaka twins. I even like Elly. No duds which is fantastic

Best Guest Character

Ned Willis. I really like him with Elly.

Best Departure

I guess Josh Willis. It sure wasn't Kyle's.

Best Storyline

N/A

Most Improved Character

Aaron Brennan. The acting has improved from Matt Wilson and his friendship with Amy is great. Yes he's had a few meh stories but overall he's a great character.

Worst Storyline

The stupid baby quad with Sonya, Toadia, Mark & Steph. Just shit. It's managed to ruin two great couples.

Worst Actor/Actress

Jenna Rosenow. Thank god she's gone.

People tend to watch more TV?!? Otherwise why would our soaps save their most dramatic moments for the Christmas/New Year period. And people seem to have lots of days off over Christmas and into the New Year.
