Even leaving aside the age gap, if her reaction to somebody talking to her boyfriend, even if they are being flirtatious is to chuck a drink over them, any relationship is doomed anyway. Nobody in their right mind would put up with that kind of possessiveness and displays of temper from a partner long term. Yes, i know she was already upset and over wrought but that isn't a good enough reason and the fact that she still wasn't prepared to apoolgise to the woman involved afterwards - well. Tyler was not wearing a sign saying "property of Piper", if he had a wedding ring on then maybe she'd have more of a point but why shouldn't a woman start talking, or even flirting with an attractive man sitting alone in a bar and for all she knows is unattached. It was up to Tyler to say "just to let you know, i have a girlfriend, this is just a chat, not leading anywhere" if he wasn't interested. People get hit on, even after marriage - it's happened to me, I know it's happened to my husband - it is up to the involved person to close it down.

Even the sex thing, that she knew the rules of Terese agreeing to them going to the formal but was not intending to keep to them, even for just one night, shows how little respect she has for everybody involved - Terese, Brad, the staff who set up the rules for the formal (ie not leaving the premises), even Tyler because he is the one that would be blamed for seducing her had they been caught. Because he is the adult and she is barely legal.

It's not fair that he is being treated as a sleaze but it is kind of inevitable when he is so much older than her. Terese doesn't know that Piper filmed that 'private' vlog (in her night clothes no less) off her own back and he actually told her that he wasn't sure she should have done so after receiving it. Or that he has been telling her sneaking around is out of the question. Or that he was trying to tell piper that sex wouldn't be happening that night but in a way that she wouldn't get hurt or have her standard (childish) response of "why are you punishing me, why do you hate me". That very mentality, that if you don't get your own way, if somebody says no to you, it must mean they hate you is more in line with a 6 year old than a 16 year old if you ask me.

I'm pleased that Mark told Brad to look to his daughter rather than attacking Tyler though because it has ALL come from her.

Yes Terese reacted badly when Brad left her but I do have more sympathy for somebody acting out when their husband of 20 years walks out on them for a woman who has professed to be a friend and she did back down pretty quickly. It's not excusing it but she didn't go through with trying to destroy Harolds, didn't make her children choose between her and Brad or anything like that. All in all, she was pretty civilized about the situation, internalizing it if anything.

For all that, not keen on Elly. She clearly is just a natural flirt but also clearly doesn't mind using it to manipulate men or upsetting people. Mark caving over the parking bays was crap - yes he could move the signs but why should he? Why couldn't she park in one of the 3 bays that weren't marked 'reserved'? I assume they were slightly further away from the complex so she's making all these dressed up kids, who have paid (or their parents have) for a limo to walk further on "the night of their life'.

A little thing but a clear indication that she is selfish.

Oh Xanthe. She needs to learn a lesson about borrowing (aka stealing) money - you'd think she'd have learnt after the Tom Quill fiasco so can't really feel too sorry for her getting into this mess with the dress - golden rule, never hire or borrow a dress if you can't afford to pay the full price if it gets damaged - my friend learnt that the hard way with her wedding dress which she'd hired being stained irrevocably. But i don't think Piper should get away with it either - she should be made to pay for at least some of it - might make her think twice before giving into a fit of temper next time. She does these impulsive, spiteful things (like the 'advert' and nearly ruining Sonya's Mayoral campaign) and always gets away with it.

I don't know what to make of Elly Conway yet... found it amusing that Mark (for all his usual steadfastness) was like "okay, I'll move the sign!" Imagine this is a sign of things to come between them? As when you like someone/have a spark, your head is turned and you do things a bit differently to your usual behaviour?

Neighbours seems to have a production line of random bullies, who show up for a few months to terrorise the regular kids. Macca, Griffo, Jayden, Kyle (before he became a regular and had to be made good), Amanda etc.

As much as Piper brought everything on herself I did feel sorry for her too. I mean the formal was meant to be something special they could all look back on in years to come with happy memories. Piper will just remember how upset and embarrassed she was and how she didn't enjoy it at all, and I find that kind of sad even though it is all fiction. Piper hasn't exactly done anything to show she is mature and responsible though. Especially her tantrum with Elly. The "Feel free to go with skanky ho" line made me laugh.

Wasn't keen of Xanthe's dress. I kind of expected her to want something a bit more sparkly and showy. $600 and they didn't even have enough material to cover the arse part properly. Piper's jumpsuit was nice, but the wig ruined the look.

Initial thoughts on Elly, she is a great improvment on the original actress. I liked Jodi Gordon in H&A until they made Martha crap and repetitive. Hoping they won't Martharize her in Neighbours. Hope she won't split Steph and Mark up though. Elly, Amy and Steph could be a good friendship group if done right.

I did feel a little sorry for Piper for all the reasons you mention but it is dwarfed by annoyance. The thing is, it's not just her formal that she ruined is it. She had no issues making Xanthe and Ben's night all about her and her pain - despite knowing how much it meant to Zanthe. I'm not even talking about the dress either (although how she failed to clock that Xanthe was also in the line of fire is beyond me, Xanthe didn't just move to be next to Elly, she was there before piper grabbed the jug) it was dragging her off to make tyler leave - did you see her roll her eyes when Ben pointed out they were dancing?

No, nothing matters except Piper. Generally I give her points for being quite a good friend to Xanthe but she failed big time today. She knows the formal has been all Xanthe has wanted for weeks, she knows she has liked Ben from the first day she arrived but none of that mattered as Piper was upset.

To be honest, if i was Terese, i would have told her she wasn't allowed to leave the house to go anywhere, including the formal after having been lied to and then screaming names at her. My parents weren't disciplinarian but i dread to think what would have happened to me if i'd screamed 'twisted cow' (or whatever it was) at my Mother under ANY circumstances, and pretty much any age - even after i was 18!

It's not even the end of the School Year in Australia - that is in November i think as they have their long break during their Summer, over Xmas. And, they are only year 11s - they"ve got another 18 months of School to go before they take their HSC and graduate. So I really don't understand why they're acting as though it is a once in a lifetime thing - surely they'll have a Prom when they get to the end of Year 12?

I didn't mind Jodi Albert in H+A although i never found her believable as Roo and Brett's daughter (oddly she is more like the current Roo than Justine Clarke) but as you say it all got very repetitive.

I think her performance was fine tonight, and the 'skanky ho' line was funny (did feel a little sorry for Piper with that, finding out this woman has power over her at School and will be in close proximity to Tyler on the Street) but I do also see signs of her being selfish and manipulative.

But then i guess, in life, i have a real issue with people that drive up dedicated left hand turn lanes to avoid traffic, then carve in and that stunt with the parking bays indicated to me that she is 'that type'. Rules don't apply to her, whatever she is doing is more important than anybody else so she can park in a bay marked reserved and expect others to park further away.

Piper proved what a nasty little brat she is - she thought of nobody but herself - was not even prepared to listen to Tyler, who she's lied to! She ruined Xanthe's evening and was absolutely obnoxious to Therese. If I were Therese I'd put her up for adoption!

Piper's self inflicted implosion has been good to watch. The actress really is a find for Neighbours.

Piper showed exactly why Terese was right to stop her seeing Tyler. The obnoxious attitude towards her mum, the whole sex issue when she could see Tyler didn't want to, spoiling Xanthe and Ben's night because Tyler was speaking to someone else, throwing the drink, the attitude at Karl and Susan's etc. And that wig was ridiculous, cheap, tatty rubbish.

I felt sorry for Tyler more than anyone. The poor guy was trying to do the right thing and not take advantage of Piper and she's made herself look like a silly child and him look creepy. At least Xanthe got her man in the end even if her dress was ruined and showed bum/thigh crease. It was nice from the front, if a little loose, and she did look lovely. I liked the jumpsuit too.

You can not compare the break up of a 20 year loving marriage to that of Piper and Tyler. Terese had every right to want to get Brad back after he cheated on her. Ned hadca right to feel angry and rejected at Brad. Brad and Terese had every right to be concerned about Piper. They are the parents and set the rules. Piper knew the rules and broke them. It iscon her.

What a stunning display of culture, depth and maturity from Piper.

I think the new teens will stay around a bit longer than most. You just do not see that urge from them to want to leave right now.

So the length of time you have been in a relationship is the yard stick for whether you can behave immaturely or not? Ned showing up Brad was immature. Terese trying to stop Lauren doing renovations at Harolds was immature. It had nothing to do with whether she could get Brad back or not.

And, yes as Jimmy Skitz says, Piper could leave home if she wanted to. Heck, while she away god knows where without her loving, caring, doting parents looking over her, she could have screwed anything that moved! Oh that's right, Piper was never mentioned. For this to all play out as people here hope, it needed the writers to have at least shown some consistency and had her parents always worrying about what she was doing.

Heck, she can even sign up for the army and put her life on the line for her country.

I think it was more the lying which was the problem. I think had Piper sat her parents down and explained she was ready, was not pressured had precautions etc. Than they might of understood. Her attitude is the problem, lying scheming and not caring Tyler would get in trouble. Like Tyler said she is just a girl and she proved it. Maybe she could leave home but while she is at home it is their rules.

Piper was excellent in today's eppy, she is definitely the best teenage actress find since Margot Robbie. I love the way her voice gets all husky and broken when she's upset. She's exactly like my younger sister when she turns on the waterworks. I maintain the character of Piper has become an immature version of her former self but the actress is really making it work. The business was Xanthea dress was predictable but it was well done.

I quite enjoyed ellys arrival. I started to go off H&A when she was on due to the OTT plots but I remember liking her on that. The street badly needs a troublemaker since Naomi left.

Ned in no was was immature in doing all he done. From young he felt hurt and rejected. Why would he just play happy families. He wanted his dad to feel how he felt. Pipers behaviour comes from her and her alone.

As far as I know, you can get married at 16 in UK with your parents' permission - but I don't think Tyler or Piper were thinking marriage, In fact I never thought he seemed that into her - their scenes together didn't ring true.
