I think hate is a strong word.

There is a lot of disapproval and annoyance directed at Paige and Piper but that is because of how they have been behaving - it isn't hatred or jealousy purely because they are attractive girls/women.

You might also not that a lot of the same posters direct a lot of negative posts about Brad and Mark - two attractive men. Why would we do that if we only hate attractive girls?

Also, how come Steph and Amy, also attractive women are fairly positively received?

Re the party, well it didn't look that bad but we were told by every other character in different houses that the music was too loud which is inconsiderate in the extreme. We were also told that people were having sex in Brad and Lauren's bed. Also, furniture got broken. And drunk people jumping into swimming pools is never a good idea.

Now none of that (except perhaps the pool as most people don't have one) is unusual for a Party of young adults, we've all been to them, I've hosted them. But she did it without the owner of the houses permission or informing her neighbours in advance and that is disrespectful at best. She also kicked off when the Police were called, even though she was in the wrong.

Its not the first time us women have been accused of apparently hating women characters like Paige and Piper coz we must be jealous of their looks and crap like that!
Nothing to do with the fact that it's their personalities and Behaviour that we dislike.

Oh the old "jealous women" card. 🙄 conveniently ignoring the posters, including me who have stated on many occasions they actually liked Paige in the beginning (she was my fave at one time) and only started to tire of her when they started to write her as being more and more whiny and self centred. Plus I know I have posted that it is a shame Paige is such an insufferable character because Olympia comes across as really lovely on the backstage videos. But, no it is easier to just play the feeble jealousy card.

Steph and Amy are well received I feel because there is more depth to their characters, whereas Paige comes across as shallow. How do Steph and Amy manage to look so stunning even when theh are dressed down and with little make up? Yes, I am jealous of that one, despite them both being favourites of mine.

I don't hate Paige - never have - but she has behaved badly recently. Piper has been a brat as well - like you I object more to her! But it's rather sexist to blame 'jealous women'! Kitkat put it very well - we also moan about Drab and Mark. But when men criticise they're not being bitchy! And they're not jealous!

I do think everyone's been quick to condemn Paige, when Tyler was hardly tortured into sleeping with her! He made the choice as well, drunken though it may have been! He knew how Piper felt, and he was well aware they were sisters, but nobody's calling him on this!

The party was out of control in Neighbours terms, but I agree it did look a bit tame! I remember another one where Imogen passed out - that looked equally feeble and was conducted in broad daylight!

Yes, I have mentioned in the last few days that i really liked Paige when she came in, that indeed she was the main reason i started setting the recorder to watch each day after catching a couple of episodes when off sick as i liked her so much and is therefore, the reason i became a regular viewer again 2 years ago.

I think she's gorgeous and have done from the start. I even remember getting my Mum to watch again because she'd joined, telling her that Flick's little real life sister had joined and was not only as stunning as her sister but also a really good character.

I also like Piper when she first came in.

It is how they're behaving, and have been for several months, which I'm moaning about.

I had parties at my parents house when I still lived there, including when I was 20ish and they were on holiday. But I always asked first. It is a matter of respect.

Had i had one without asking them, i would have expected to have been severelu reprimanded, even though they had given permission in the past so probably would have again.

In fact, I wouldn't have blamed them if they'd turned round and said that if i couldn't respect them and their home i should find somewhere else to live as I was now an adult.

Tyler has been condemned though. Perhaps Paige has gotten the brunt of it coz more of us have a problem with her behaviour. However I called Tyler a bastard for sleeping with Paige and said they were both cruel and hurtful and horrible and a few other posters have expressed disgust at Tyler too.

Well she wasn't planning on having the party until Jack chose the church and Courtney suggested it.

As for the stool to be fair they were trying to fix it, it's not like she just chucked it and hoped they wouldn't notice.

As for that conversation at the end, who were they trying to convince they are certain to get together again, personally I'm happy that they will, always said they should be together as they are really well suited

I dont think anyone would have to be tortured to sleep with Paige, that having been said, not only are they both on the rebound, they also have history together, and are not a bad pairing, to say nothing of various women talking him up all night. Best I can tell the surprise outcome is not that they slept together, its that Tyler didnt go home with someone else before her.

As for Paige, its pretty clear she does not understand Jacks faith, but more to the point she doesnt understand Jack. Right from day one, she put alot of her time into John, even when all he did was lie in a hospital bed. This would continue when he woke up, but then even he was unable to commit to a relationship with her, so she is already wants way more out of the relationship than he does, and doesnt know why he cant give it to her.

So finally we meet Jack, a whole new man, and one who is still resistant to her, finally after misunderstanding his faith, he picks the church over her, and she snaps like an elastic band, a band that has been stretching arguably since Jack woke up was resistant to a relationship with her.

In other news, is anyone else wondering why on earth Amy went to such lengths to keep her saucy maid past a secret, given everyone's non-reaction to discovering the truth?

She had time fot all those people to learn of the party, she could have let the immediate neighbours know.

I'd have had more time for her if she had immediately told Brad what had happened, apologized and said Tyler thought he could fix it. Although Brad would probably do a better job since he is a carpenter.

The point is still that if she hadn't had a party without permission, it wouldn't have been broken in the first place. She trusted 'randoms' with property belonging to somebody else without their permission. That is wrong.

Paige lovers only see one side to her, just like you know who with Piper. I think because Lauren feels she missed out on Paige growing up. She feels she needs to pamper to her i guess. Tbf to Brad it must have been hard to choose between his daughters and he did give Paige a telling off.

It's just how much various people consider their loyalty to Piper's feelings, even though Tyler dumped her, comes into it.

It doesn't matter if it was 'officially' recognised. Tyler had made a commitment of feelings towards Piper, and Brad and Terese and mark and several other people. They were professing their love, they were snogging, they were talking about having sex. They were in a relationship.

Can you give examples of posters putting blame on Paige for so much as sneezing?

I wouldn't say that people attack Paige over nothing, it is more to do with her self centered nature. I don't actually have a problem with Paige, for me she acts the way she does because of the upbringing that she has had. Firstly she was with Mary and was vastly spoilt. Then Lauren and her reunited and Lauren felt that she abandoned Paige so there is always a feeling of guilt when Lauren is concerned. She acts the way she does due to getting away with everything from her parents. That is the root cause of her issues as she gets no direction from them.


It is great to see Lucy back and it is always nice to see Paul having more of a family dynamic than just him and Amy/Jimmy.

Completely agree with Tyler, absolute lie from him there. He just seems to have short lived flings. So in some way it is not a one night stand but Tyler only does 8 night stands and then chucks them out. Just like he did with the Air B&B girl.

I think you can apply that logic to a lot of people, regardless of gender, who they will give someone a pass because they find them attractive.

FYI: I'm a gay guy, and I know Paige is hot, and I'm also one of her few fans in this thread. I don't always get as agitated by her actions as a lot of people do here. Most of my criticism is of Brad and Lauren and their lame-ass parenting, which maybe partially down to believing she was dead for 20 years (in Lauren's case; just not knowing she existed period, for Brad).

I don't think it's helpful to say that women who criticise other woman (who happen to be attractive) is down to some kind of unconscious jealousy and envy of said beauty. It could just be that they behave in ways that antagonise them. Some people have a low tolerance on self-centredness and immature bratty behaviour.

To balance it out, Paul, Mark and Ringonhave gotten a lot of hate in the past on here. Sonya used to a haters dream, too.

I think that's a good summary of where Paige is at, mentally and emotionally. She invested a lot in the relationship from the moment he saved her life, ultimately wanting more from Jack than he has ever been able to give. She just assumed that he would see things the same way that she does, and has never really understood why he doesn't. It's like a more complicated version of unrequited love, and I feel sorry for her.

Great rant, lobeydosser! I hate Paul for the fact that when all is well in his world, he feeds his happiness at the expense of others, and is thoroughly detestable. But when he's down, he makes me feel so sorry for him eventually, after feeling pleased he is having a comeuppance. Appreciating the character of Paul is somewhat like being addicted to a toxic substance!


I'm with those who would like to see Amy and Jack in a relationship - much more suited. Paige, Paige, Paige...formerly one of my favourite characters. What have they done to you?! I hope Jack realises what a lucky escape he's had. I'm extremely fed up of Jack and Paige seemingly having the same conversation over and over again.


You missed Mason? Oh what a treat for you! An epically successful 'FFS Get Rid Of...' thread if ever I've seen one. Mason looked very similar to B*** and I was always convinced that he was originally intended to be B***'s son, but they axed the actor and introduced Paige instead - giving her the 'mystery family member' storyline originally intended for Amy and Paul!


Totally agree - Tyler is just as much, if not more to blame as Paige. Very selfish actions on their part, while not considering Piper's feelings - someone they're both supposed to care for deeply.




Oh don't worry, she still is for me. All that stuttering, frowning and hand-waving she does makes me want to throw my remote at the TV. Although I've always loved anything she does with the little one playing Nell. She's fantastic with her.
