Why on earth does Mark talk to Steph about cases he works on surely that is confidential?

I don't think he went out looking for him, just went out for a walk and bumped into him. He should have walked away but it's understandable him being angry and yeah how silly of Xanthe to be upset about being assaulted, she actually didn't say anything btw, it was Susan who told Garry Cooper was in her class.

I should hope that is a sarcastic comment and not actually meant.

Also Xanthe did ask Gary to make the whole situation go away as well just before he set off.

I have to say the acting from Damien Richardson and Lily Van der Meer has been excellent in the last few episodes.

Yeah it was meant in a sarcastic way.

bib. I don't think she meant it in that way, but I agree they have both been great and Xanthe went from being my most annoying character to my favourites. Hope she catch a break soon though, seem like it's one disaster to another with her.

I love Gary. Never thought I'd say that after his guest stint, but he really works. Shame Kyle and Naomi aren't around to interact with him, Xanthe and Sheila. I find everything he does believable to his character.

Love how Terese has a string of admirers: Paul, Gary, Ryan Prescot, and now Tim Collins! Although, they aren't exactly catches. Gary is the only one who would treat her right (he would give it ago at least), while Paul is a bit of a kindred spirit, but Ryan and Tim are low life's. Anyway, I did think they were in danger of losing Terese's compassion when she dithered over the USB and protecting her reputation. Terese would not have given that so much thought and would have done the right thing. But, I guess she did have Tim bending her ear with his amoral advice.

Alison seemed to come into her own a bit more - not much, but more than just a 2D bitch. She described the assault as "just a kiss", so was this story supposed to be about consent? What happened to Xanthe would have been an awful experience, but I'm confused as to what actually happened and what it all means. I thought it was an attempted sexual assault, but now it seems to be about consent. I wish they had been clearer. It can of course be both, but Alison's comment kind of threw me a bit.

Poor Paige. Destined to have her heart broken because Jack jumped to conclusions and is now leading her on. How did he manage to do that anyway? #30 was the target, and I doubt Ari the Stalker would have continuously made that mistake of targeting the wrong house. He's pretty creepy when he puts his oversized hood up. Stalking someone with poisonous snakes is certainly original. Love that Neighbours can still be original, even if it is a bit zany and out there.

I'm really liking Gary's character too. The Cannings remind me of the Timmins, to date one of my all time favourite families.

bib- from what I could tell it was Cooper being rough with Xanthe and "forcing" the kiss on her - probably not a peck on the cheek either. When Mark (I think?) said she's lucky it didn't go any further it seemed like it must have been heading towards rape or similar.

Sexual assault doesn't just equal full on rape - it's anything sexual done without consent. Taylor Swift is apparently pursuing sexual assault charges against a fan who groped her bum (don't ask how I know that).

Honestly as a woman who was once an insecure teenager just like Xanthe I can see how it'd be very scary to have a guy like Cooper ("good guy", stronger and bigger than her) try to overpower you like that, especially when you're telling him no and he won't listen.

I'm another big fan of the Canning family. Gary and Xanthie have been great additions this year and with Sheila as the matriarch they really work as a unit. I don't miss Kyle all that much but I do miss Naomi, I'd love to see her back with the household. It's understandable that she left to have her bub but perhaps they could entice her back with some reduced hours. Sonia also has a baby in real life and that hasn't stopped her working.

Looks like Jack will either leave, or be kicked out of, the church and then we could have a love triangle with Amy and Paige.

A shame if they do kick him out of the church really. Why make him a priest if they were only going to make it last a month or two?

If the soap bad boy routine continues no doubt Cooper will be the loveable rouge of Erinsborough given a few months.

The actress who played Naomi had a photo on instagram the other day with Sheila, it seems like they're good friends so maybe there is an opening for her to come back, one day. I would love to see what her and Xanthe got up to!

I would love Naomi to return because although she was sometimes a bit silly, she was entertaining and easy to watch. Unlike another whom I won't mention for fear of being thought nasty!

You're just so jealous!!

Naomi was a great character. So likeable even though she started off trying to break up a marriage, and she really lightened up Mark while they were together. Loved her with Paul too. Another vote for a Naomi return here.

And one from me. Naomi was a brilliant character. Even though she caused trouble and went through men pretty quickly she had more to her than that so was still likeable. She's an attractive woman too so no one can even say we like her because we aren't jealous like we all are of Elly as she's so beautiful *sigh*

Ditto, because she was really well written, and importantly brilliantly played, she was a hugely likeable and sympathetic character, even when making a move on a married bloke.

Love Gary, Terese should so grab him, they work really well together

He would only get kicked out of the church if he broke the secret of the confessional, which he hasn't done. He tried his best to protect Steph without giving anything away but it looks like The Hooded One has finally broken cover!

Glad that Cooper's lies have been exposed. I thought it was good of Xanthe not to wreck his future in medicine by not making a complaint against him. Of course, Gary thought it was terrible that Xanthe decided not to make a complaint. Everyone at school will hear about his lies and that will be enough. I hope Ben breaks up with Alison. I'd like to see Ben getting back with Xanthe. Ben's too sensitive to be with Alison. Mark's a bit slow for a copper. He knows that Jack's a priest and that the confessional is sacred and yet he didn't even see that Jack was trying to tell him that Steph might be in danger. Come on Mark, use your head.

Tbh Mark comes off as slow quite a lot, such as when Paige had to almost spell it out to him how she knew where Dimato was before he was arrested the first time. I find it kind of stupid that you can't break a confessional when it could save someone's life or take someone dangerous off the street.

I completely agree, if it puts someone's life in danger I don't know why in those circumstances they can't involve the police.

On another note it's good that finally Ben has stepped up to the mark and helped Xanthe.

You may think it stupid but a priest is bound to keep what is said to him in confession , confidential. Otherwise people wouldn't confess!

Doctors are also bound by patient confidentiality. The fact that a priest is bound by the sanctity of the confessional is well known and Mark should have been aware of what Jack was trying to say.

There may be things about most religions that people find 'stupid', but beliefs should be respected.

I don't think it is as black and white as doctors being bound by patient confidentiality. For instance, if a person was to turn up with massive bruises on them, the doctors have a duty to report it to the police coz it could be a sign of domestic violence. There are people who have asked for those kinda markings in the bdsm world but they have to be very careful coz even if they've asked for and consented, the doctor is still duty bound to report it to the police. And the same if a person was in therapy and we're deemed a risk to children, then the therapist would be bound by law to report that person to the police.

Sorry if this has gone off topic!
