I'm glad they've managed to keep Sonya and Toadie together, I like them and would hate it if they were separated.”

I agree. Toadie and Sonya have been together for years now it would be a shame to split them up, its refreshing seeing a young couple happy together and faithful. Neighbours seems to be the one soap that can maintain long term couples. Karl and Susan must hold a soap record having been an onscreen couple for more than 20 years (apart from the two year period 2004 - 2006 where they were separated). Harold and Madge also lasted more than a decade together onscreen, neither of them ever had an affair.

The Karl/Susan split was such a huge sl, because they hadn't been switching partners every year. You could feel Susan's pain, their scenes had an actual impact. And the reunion was well written, it made sense. And these long term couples don't need to have OTT sexy scenes all the time, because the writing has been there for such a long time, and it can be nuanced and 'less'.

I am intrigued as to what Elly's remit is. There is obviously something - the headaches, the spitefullness the manipulation of Ned (which lets face it seems to be very easy). i like her character because its interesting and keeps us speculating. I do agree with some of you regarding her exchange with Therese (who is supposed to be a hard nosed businesswoman). I would have thought she would call Elly out over her attempted blackmail

Paul's behaviour yesterday, phoning one of Lassiter's guests 9How did he get their details) was disgusting, and refusing to let Gary off his hook.

He has become a caricature, what ever he may have been in the past, and obviously has no principles. Neighbours would be better off without him and his shoddy machinations - and he's getting a turkey neck!”

well every soap has their so called 'baddie' who is in this never ending cycle of badness, comeuppance, repent etc. Paul is very loving to his immeadiate family though. I just wish he and Therese would become friendly again. I like Gary - he is a very beleivable character

I'm sorry but I find Sonia really annoying!! her over the top gestures and her constant fussing over Nell is really annoying. d

Really good of Neighbours to mention Tom Scully and Rosie Hoyland in todays episode, it is always nice when past characters are mentioned. Max Hoyland got a mention as well. Is Ned a gymnast? He just rolls over for Elly so she gets her way.

As has been said it is interesting to see where they go with Elly and her state.

Amy and Jack have so much more chemistry than Jack and Paige. It seems very forced with Paige where as there is just so much more ease with Amy. Speaking of Amy she is a very underrated character, she is a strong person with weaknesses, like many other characters but she always puts others first in a very understated way which is different to others. Comparing her to Sonya who actively talks about helping others and almost seems to show off to others that she has done it, Amy on the other hand is much more modest and just gets on with everything. She is a very nice, reasonable, level headed and headstrong character who i definitely hope is on for years to come.

Well, whilst I don't approve of how Elly is behaving and it is awful to see 'wrong' triumph in this way - part of me is quite pleased that Piper's actions are having long term consequences as my biggest bugbear with her was that she would do these kneejerk, spiteful things like uploading the Garage 'advert' with no thought as to how they would hurt people other than the person she was angry with, and she was never really punished for it. She'd be electronically grounded for maybe a day and that would be it, so she never learnt her lesson and just did the same thing again and again, with Courthey and Tim, Paige at Divorce Party and Elly with her vlog the day after the Formal.

Now this last one has come back to haunt her weeks later, maybe, just maybe she will learn from it and think twice before doing something like it again.

Not surprised. When Steph returned they advertised her female love interest a lot, and it was anything but a love story. Of course they'll continue that route, while Steph is safely in a relationship with a man. Sigh.

Piper
"Now Mrs Kennedy thinks I'm a deranged psychotic with a massive chip on their shoulder"
Hmmm, that actually sounds like a pretty accurate description for your reaction to Elly having a conversation with your boyfriend the night of the Formal. Throwing a jug of drink, uploading a vlog slagging them off and calling them a skank is not a proportionate or reasonable response.

The problem is that unlike the people Piper has done this to before (tyler, Courtney) Elly is quite a nasty, manipulative person so hasn't just shrugged it off or risen above it and has decided to be horrible back.

As I say, I'm not defending Elly, no teacher should ever behave like that, no matter what the provocation but Piper did start this by going over the top about Tyler and it is worrying that she still can't see that she is in any way culpable.

Bringing the vlog into it is hardly "playing dirty" as it does prove that she was antagonistic towards Elly so might be making her accusations up.

I quite like that the bug was found so quickly and by something as everyday as it causing interference with phones. But surely bugs are slightly more sophisticated than that - given that virtually everybody has a phone these days, including criminals who are being legitimately bugged, wouldn'( they always be found quickly if they cause phones to make that noise?

Its amazing the comments regarding the character of Piper are hilarious. she is supposed to be a fiesty 16 year old girl! Her 'actions' are very typical of girls her age - kneejerk reactions ,and protestations when she gets pulled up about it. I think her character is another very beleivable one. I have been a 16 year old girl and now I have a daughter who is nearly that age so beleive me I know lol!!

And yet they try to pair her with 25 or so year old Tyler, and it be ok with everyone. She's showing that she's still a child growing to be an adult, and he's a full grown man.

Absolutely F&T, I found that storyline very uncomfortable. I know for a fact if that was my daughter Tyler would have to leave her alone or walk with a limp for the rest of his life!

I know its so boring and predictable. Although i think its the bloke in the parka who is obsessed with Belinda who is (in turn) obsessed with Steph.

Hope you are keeping up.....................................

I think the Tyler Piper relationship was supposed to show how their close friendship, which came about through their mutual friendship with Ben from when Tyler was stay at the Kennedy's had evolved into something more over time and not simply be a case of them looking at each other and thinking Phwoar!

She's acting like a 16 year old - impulsive, a bit spiteful with the vlogging at times and an "it's not fair" attitude. She was made out to be more mature than that and apparently was mature enough to have a sexual relationship with a man in his mid 20s. She can't have it both ways (or the writers can't). She's either a stroppy teenager who doesn't think of the consequences of ther actions or she's a mature young adult. I hope she stays away from Tyler as she's way too young for him as she's showing yet again and he works better with Paige. Piper is crying out for some parenting from Terese and it's just not happening. She gets more from Lauren than either of her parents.

I loved her scenes with Lauren, that was parenting. I hope it won't come to bite Lauren in the butt later on.

Tyler simply is an adult man, and it would be simply wrong for him to get into a relationship with Piper, who CLEARLY isn't anywhere near in maturity to him. I'm bummed they're not going with Paige and Tyler, they actually work, and it's been long time coming.

When have I ever said that her actions aren't believable? Especially for somebody of her age?

That doesn't mean that I can't find if annoying or frustrating and take some enjoyment, as a viewer, that one of her knee jerk reactions is having some consequences for her.

That said, i was also once a 16 year old girl and know I wouldn't have reacted as she does (i would have seen that it could hurt other people for one thing) and if I had, I would have been dealt with much more severely than she ever has been.

I don't have kids myself but most of my friends do, mostly teenagers and i also know they wouldn't act like that either and again, if they did, more would happen to them than a wagged finger for a few hours - they probably wouldn't get unsupervised use of a laptop or phone for weeks as a start.

I agree with all of this

I've never had a problem with Piper behaving like a teenager just with her behaving like one whilst also being told that she is very mature for her age. As you say, she can't be both.

I just used to point out examples of her not being mature as people claimed and part of that were these knee jerk reactions to things from which she didn't learn.

I'm not just slightly enjoying that one of those acts is causing her problems in a way she couldn't possibly have foreseen. So maybe, she'll think more in the future about what unexpected consequences something could have, though i doubt it given how she was talking about it today - it being other people behaving badly for having tracked it down and sent it to Susan rather than her for having made it, and uploaded it in the first place.

Awful that it was Ned that got it though as i quite like their sibling relationship.

How many revenge videos has Piper released already? And she still has full access to internet and her phone etc without supervision. She released revenge porn and distributed it, and got away with it because it was Paige and Tyler. And she STILL has access to internet etc freely. I know soaps are far stepped from reality, but huge crimes like this bug me.

I knew that Susan would take Elly's side. Elly was clever enough not to mark Piper's work low enough that it would be obvious that she was being unfair to her. Susan's not going to want to go against Elly, what with her being family. Brad was pathetic as usual. He didn't even question how Susan got a hold of Piper's blog about Elly. He's absolutely hopeless. Susan's obviously biased towards Elly. The fact that Susan said that Elly had marked Piper's work 'hard' says that it would have been seen as obviously unfair if Elly had taken another 20% off. I look forward to the episode where Elly's unfair treatment of Piper is exposed. I can't wait for when Piper finds out that Ned has betrayed her in a big way.

lets not forget that Ben is Elly's cousin and Susan's Grandson & he is being marked preferentially over Piper

She was also an accomplice in setting the school on fire as well! How Ben escaped with just a suspended sentence beats me.

She is just an emotional girl who feels her only outage is through online means. Really she harbours all her emotions in to her vlogs and because she has no barrier with it she usually ends up in the wrong with it. The whole blog ranting on about Red Rum just shows that. The issue with Piper is that she never feels like her parents are on the same wavelength and you can see that in the present situation with her. But she is quite a realistic character and extremely well portrayed, i for one feel that the show would be worse off without Piper.
