Just because Mark got Ari you feel that he may get away with the bugging. I hope not, he needs to be punished for going through with the bugging after he was defying his senior colleagues and the law. It would be unjust for him to get away with it. Could you imagine if another officer did it. Mark would be beyond disapproving and critical of them. Even though he saved Belinda and Charlie it doesnt been that his actions were at all justifiable.

![]() Well they have quite a bit in common - both have lied about something unprofessional they did in their job in the past week. They would have plenty to talk about in their first date!

but its part of one of the main storylines, so in my opinion, it automatically opens itself up to discussion....
In any case, as another poster pointed out, people do not give their name, so unless the priest recognised the voice, they would be none the wiser. As Mark would not have been had he got a bugged confession from the stalker. As I said before, this thread is not here to criticise , or even discuss, the Catholic faith and I think we should stop commenting on this. It's unalterable, whatever you think, and that's why it's in the story, as was Jack being a Catholic priest and therefore bound by a vow of celibacy. If he'd been Protestant there would have been no story with Paige. |

I can't bear hypocritical characters, and Mark is the epitome of that. He showed absolutely no sympathy for Gary, who as well as not actually beating Cooper, was understandably riled when the little scrote was taunting him in the street about what he'd done to his daughter. Mark couldn't just have a quiet word with Gary - he had to report him to his parole officer. But no, The Great Brennan is above the law when it comes to protecting his own loved ones.

The thing is, the bugging had absolutely nothing to do with them catching Ari. If Mark had concentrated his efforts on protecting Belinda, they'd have known about Ari contacting her and could have just sent undercover police officers to the meeting point to get him. Belinda and charlie didn't ever need to be in danger, Mark didn't need to have been stabbed.
So his actions arguably made it worse, aside from the moral and legal aspects of bugging the Confessional. But, he will be let off because he was injured whilst being a 'hero'. |

Thats the best way to put it really. I hope the whole "hero" phase doesnt detract from what he has done. He was thoroughly unprofessional and needs the punishment.

Exactly. As a police officer, it's to be expected that he apprehends criminals - it's part of his job. Part of his job is not placing illegal bugs and then lying about it.

That's some drone that Charlie owns. Growing legs and walking off like that once it dropped behind the fence
![]() Also, shouldn't Paige be licensed if she's having a professional fight? This storyline is particularly silly. One sparring session where she gets laid out and the next minute she's in a professional bout with the local animal. Of course, this is all organised by Aaron who is now a boxing promoter (don't they need a license too?), Mayor's assistant, Legal secretary to Rebechi Law, social media expert and manager to new local singing sensation Madison Robinson. |

Hehe, I thought that as well. It obviously landed just over the fence but Charlie ended up so far away he was where Doug and Susan nearly died of heat stroke. And considering that Mark got there in about 2 minutes, I'm not sure which is more ludicrous, Charlie being there or Susan and Doug nearly dying of thirst just round the corner from the waterhole

Yes, Mark lying about bugging the confessional (as well as doing it in the first place) was pretty despicable. I wish they'd pair him up with Elly so I can conveniently fast-forward their scenes.
![]() . He has a few redeeming qualities and she has absolutely none at all. Why Ned is even going there is beyond me.

Paige gave her opponent the reaction she wanted. She now knows that Paige might be having slight doubts about fighting her. Looking at Paige's physique, she really doesn't look like a fighter. She looks like she probably keeps fit, but that's it. I suppose it depends on how much fight she has in her to win.

A belated comment here but I wanted to say that I thought Tuesday's episode was BRILLIANT! I've been despairing of Neighbours recently but that was the best its been for ages and was genuinely really exciting. As another poster said, the guy playing Ari is absolutely superb and I've really grown to like Belinda very much, she's been amazing since her latest return. I would now like to see her made a more regular addition to the show.

My money is on Steph's bi-sexuality never being mentioned again. |

' Also liked the girl rugby star's reaction to Tyler's joke - 'Well, at least he's pretty'! Why oh why don't the writers acknowledge how good Paige and Tyler are together? HAd to laugh when Mark told his brothers to put some clothes on. Must admit I was puzzled about them sitting there in next to nothing with a big oil-filled radiator! |

I was getting so bored of Neighbours recently, but I've been loving it again over the last week.
Would like to see Amy & Jack together, they have such great chemistry. Paige is such a bore and so whiny. Belinda has made me wanting her to stay around. Steph & Mark are adorable together. Madison is the worst actor I've seen in a long time and the character is a waste. Ned still gives me the creeps. Piper is the queen and needs to bring Elly down. |

Charlie is now rivalling Jimmy in the "they killed Kenny" stakes. How many perils can two boys have?
Looks like they're trying to do some kind of Million Dollar Baby scenario with Paige. At least Hilary Swank had Clint Eastwood. Paige has Tweedledee and Tweedledum. |

That was what shocked me. I wasn't surprised he disobeyed orders and acted unprofessionally, that has become normal behaviour for Mark. But I do think the lying was out of character.

So after hitting a punching bag a few times Paige is now ready to take on a pro boxer?
I've never seen a storyline so ridiculous. |

I've never seen a storyline so ridiculous. ![]() ![]() The whole thing is utterly ridiculous and has been since the explosion. The show seems to be jettisoning reality on a weekly basis and I'm gradually going off it. I stopped watching completely during Bowers reign of terror and I feel the show is heading in a similar direction in terms of how bad it is, even though there are some good characters. |
