So rashford makes it

5 Spurs players too, and they should all start.

I cannot believe Rasford gets in ahead of Defoe.

I am in agreement with you there, I think that this is one tournament too early for Rashford.

Rashford should be one of the three cut but he may drop three from the midfield

Rashford won't make the final 23.
I'm more bothered about Wilshere's inclusion - he's hardly kicked a ball for the whole season. He may be fit now but for how long?

Thank you, someone else who think like me regarding Wilshere!

Rashford being taken is a step forward for him. Id assume he wont make the cut. Personally I'd have him and a couple of the other most promising youngsters as part of the travelling party even if they don't make the squad. Get them used to the environment and being part of a tournament set up so that when they (hopefully) cement a squad place next time round it wont be new to them.

Nope, Osusana is worried about his fitness. You've now moved on to arguing that he's actually no good anyway.

A welcome relief to see a squad which nobody will have any major complaints about.

It just seems a little short on CB's. I would have taken Jagielka over Walker, one of four right backs.

Rashford and Townsend will be cut and possibly Drinkwater.

Leicester won a 38 games season with only 22 players and 19 starters, so for six games tops, there is ample space for an uncertain pick.

Arsenal players are fine for England, they will stay fully fit. It is only when the Arsenal medical team and training plans are involved, that they get injured.

I agree with Rashford and Drinkwater but hopefully not Townsend - he offers something different and can play wide. I'd favour dropping one of the Liverpool trio - Milner, Lallana or Henderson over Townsend

Speaking as a Liverpool fan, Milner and Lallana both deserve to be in there, they've had great seasons.

Henderson has performed well below par however and I couldn't really defend him if he got dropped.

Am I right that there is only 3 Centre backs?

I like the Townsend selection. Would seem an odd one to call up and then leave him out of the 23...

Why include him in the first place then? Is Hodgson just trying to placate the media?

Looks like Walcott may never play in a world cup for England after all.

Dier can play there if needed.

Dier is the other centre back cover.

Seems a bit light to me. I don't think he'll make the squad, but I also don't think Rashford should be in the 26.

Why all those Liverpool and Everton players when they were shit this season? I hope the selected Leicester lads get to go, they deserve it.

I would bet anything on him making the squad, and starting as defensive midfielder. He's far from light.

<<<< firmly in the camp that can't fathom how or why Jack Wilshere is an automatic selection

also, Dier as CB cover isn't going to look remotely clever when he picks up yellow cards in midfield in the first couple of games

Delph, Drinkwater and Rashford to be cut from the 26.

Henderson should be cut instead of Drinkwater but Hodgson won't leave Liverpool's captain out.
