I can't use wax because the last time I did, (not my face) I had a reaction to it.

I have seen that Veet do the hair removal cream for your face. Does it work?

I'd imagine that if you reacted to waxing, you would to Veet as well; it's much worse for sensitive skin than waxing is. Although the only way to be sure is to do a patch test. Everybody's skin is different.

Threading is the most non-intrusive way to remove facial hair though it can be painful. The other issue is the cost as you probably won't be able to do it yourself. Depending on how often you need to have it done, the cost can soon mount up.

I get threaded every two weeks, full face, and it costs about £12. I do pluck hairs in between which they say not to do but I'd be cutting about with a full beard if I didn't! How come you can overpluck your eyebrows and they don't grow back but not the rest of your facial hair?

I saw Boots do a hair removal machine that uses pulsed light
You could try laser removal. Or a No No!

I've just bought one of these from ebay for 99p. It actually works! I did watch a couple of youtube videos of people using it first though. It can be a bit painful but it only lasts a second.

Just seen it's 89p on Amazon, so even more of a bargain!

I've just ordered a pack of five epilator sticks from Amazon for £2.20. I'm very excited and full of hope! Haha!

It took me a while but now I've got the hang of it I barely use my tweezers and haven't had to have any threading done (apart from my eyebrows).

I think they're brilliant!

I've used various over the years, having dark hair the upper lip area needs to be maintained. The best one I've found recently is online at Boots called Louis Marcel hair removal cream. It removes the hair well, doesn't sting and doesn't leave sore red marks on my face. My eyebrows I get threaded which I can just about stand the pain, well I say pain it feels more like a burning sensation but it's over very quickly. I believe they do threading for other facial areas.

Myself, as a transwoman, finds that similar to my routine most days.

I've had both laser and IPL treatments for facial fuzz, but these were becoming very costly and now wouldn't work on the remaining hair, as it is turning white. Never really had a lot of it to begin with anyway, but still get 'growth spurts'. The razor comes out every other day or so while I'm having a soak to tidy everything up.

For me, I think electrolysis may be the answer. When I can afford it that is.

I had electrolysis but if you have any PCOS or thyroid problem, it will grow back .
I now use Nair Facial cream as I think it's gentler than Veet .

Before undergoing any treatment, hormonal or hair removal, I had very little in the way of any facial or body hair, so needed very little elsewhere. I just use Nair sensitive all over now. Can't use any of it on the face though as it just is not recommended.

There is something you can obtain from your GP if you have any serious or un-natural growth. It's branded Vaniqa and it slows down any growth and is a good alternative if you can't get hair removal or are waiting for treatment. It's good stuff though, but expensive, and some doctors won't prescribe it.

Exactly! And how come if you pluck one or two hairs, they grow back thicker and darker, even though plucking is more or less the same as threading and waxing? It's all just whipping out hairs from the root after all.
Or do hairs also grow backer thicker and darker after threading and waxing? I haven't tried those, but I did pluck a couple of random hairs off my face and now I have to use hair-removal cream on them (I'm afraid to do any more plucking!) regularly

Also prescribed Vaniqa for effects of PCOS. It doesn't remove hair completely but did lessen and soften existing hair. Pretty effective, although sometimes the new weaker hair would break off when tweezed, so prone to the odd ingrowing hair. Long-term though, specialist advised (boringly) cutting out sugar, which had a remarkable affect. Weight loss, and helped borderline diabetes, glucose intolerance, plus hair finer, blonder and from shaving legs daily, now once a week!
