The DS 'Most Undeserving Non-Qualifier' Award 2016
Welcome! As most of us are suffering from a bit of a Eurovision comedown, I thought how about we reflect over some of the best (or worst) moments in the contest. Inspired by the Marcel Bezeçon Awards (introduced by The Dark Lord that is Christer Bjorkman, no less) I thought it would be a great idea if we held our own DS spin-off...
So instead of awarding the best songwriters and artists, I would like you to vote on who was the most undeserving non-qualifier of this year (2016) and maybe there will be other contests to come during the 'off-season' if there's enough interest. All you need to do is vote for the country that you feel deserved to qualify for the 2016 Grand Final more than any of the others on the poll above. Most Undeserving Non-Qualifier!* Start Voting Now! The Voting Will Close: Monday 23 May @00:00 BST * Disclaimer: This is a purely fictional game as I have no intentions in attempting to recreate The Eurovision trophy using materials from my local haberdashery/craft shop and then shipping it to Iceland.. Er I mean, whatever the winning country is... |

This should have been a multiple choice poll! Voted for Iceland, but Belarus and Norway would definitely also have my vote.

But as the question refers to the (singular) most undeserving NQ, I decided against it. My vote went to Macedonia. Kaliopi would've been in the final if it weren't for the juries. ![]()

Albania and San Marino
Don't really care too much about the others.I love Play, but Juri's performance was probably the worst of the entire contest. I'm still cringing. |

Expect Iceland to win in a landslide, so I went with Belarus, the improvement shown totally warranted a place in the final.
Ridiculous really that they couldn't make the final with that or Time, but made it with bloody Cheesecake. |

I think Iceland are the most undeserving NQ of any song since the semis were introduced, so them by a country mile. Poor Greta

Torn between Belarus and Bosnia, but went for Belarus in the end. Iceland isn't even in my Top 5 for this.

Anyone over Poland, would have been a fairer competition
Iceland, Slovenia, Norway and even Belarus deserved another shot in the final |

Iceland by far, followed by Macedonia. Also would have liked Norway, Albania, Slovenia, Belarus and Moldova in the final.

So, after 50 votes, Iceland have exactly 50% of the overall vote.
I'm not sure anyone can catch Greta now (Shocker!) but who will take second place? |

LOL
I didn't need a poll. Iceland is the only answer imo.
