I am not a great lover of chocolate these days but in the past my favourite was:

Frys Peppermint Cream.

Followed closely by
Frys Chocolate Cream

Followed by
Frys Five Centre
Don't know if this is still made

i'm quite partial to a starbar as well

not sure if this counts as it was only ever sold as a limited edition but i loved the dark chocolate mars bars they did, i used to hassle the guy who owned the corner shop where i lived to get me a box of them from the cash and carry when they were available.

Like you Fry's chocolate bars were amongst my favourites, OP. Used to be able to get them from the chocolate dispensing machines outside shops that sadly have long gone from our streets.

I really loved Crunchie bars and Old Jamaica when I was a kid and I guess they were probably my favourites, as well as Fry's Turkish Delight or Jameson's Raspberry Ruffle that I would eat until it made me sick.

It would be hard to pin down an all time winner of best chocolate bar I think for me, because I actively seek out new bars wherever I go, but certainly memorable the rarely seen and deeply desired Spanish chocolate truffle turrón bars and the excellent Niederegger marzipan bars.

Those Frys 5 centre bars the op mentioned bring back memories of my Dad who used to buy them for us as kids.

I think my favourite of all time is probably Cote D'or bouchees.

At the moment as I'm counting calories I'm partial to M&S marzipan and apricot bars.

This is Sophie's Choice to me - I am a chocaholic.

It does depend what mood I am in but

You cannot beat a large bar of Cadburys Dairy Milk though, chilled.

Lindt do a Swiss milk chocolate bar with cherry liquid filling - ie kind of like a Liqueur chocolate but non-alcoholic. I don't know if they still make it, you never see it nowadays. It's truly heavenly, delicious combination of sweet chocolate and slightly sour filling.

Cadburys Spira. But I hope they don't bring it back. After the utter disappointment at the return of Visa Versa (another favourite as a child) I don't want the memory ruined.

I'm quite content with a bar of Cadburys Dairy Milk

Have you ever tried a star bar or are you just being pedantic?

I quite like star bars and they defintely taste like they contain peanut butter and although they probably just contain crushed peanuts, I think most people associate them with peanut butter.

I really used to like Cabana bars (caramel cherry and coconut) there isn't anything like them now that I have found.
