Loved the show. And while it got bad for a while the last two series were very good. I really rated he actor who played Justin. It was a good little set up.

I always thought that It would return despite being axed, as the last episode left the door open (with the merger not going ahead) but as time goes on it seems to be more and more unlikely, shame. In my opinion the best time for the show was series 3 - 5, some great storylines and characters, I think the show lost something when it moved to Scotland, which ultimately didn't work and was probably why it was axed.

I was hoping they would bring it back as well. I liked it most series 3 to 5 as well however I did like series 8 and 9 in Scotland.

Unfortunately, it was doomed the minute they relocated to Scotland.

I did like series 8 and 9 as well as Scotland (10 had good stuff too) I just felt like the show lost something after it moved from Rochdale, but all in all I enjoyed most of it's entire run from start to finish

I liked those in bold the most I also liked Rose Kelly, Chlo & Mika and Davina ( the latter up until she just uped and left Tom for no reason )

I agree. I didn't dislike those series but the show lost it's spark from series 8 onwards. Decent characters and mostly decent story lines but the show just didn't feel the same, it felt like a different program.

The early episodes featuring Mika and Chlo and Jack etc.
Standout episode was Earl killing Maxine. Both actors were tremendous.

Completely agree, Denise Welch as Steph Haydock was equally brilliant too in those scenes.

Waterloo Road used to be must-see TV but sadly lost its spark in Scotland (although Christine Mulgrew was a great character and the alcohol storyline was incredible). I stayed with it until the end hoping for one final twist but we only had a voice-over. Shame they killed off Grantly in the middle of a series (Tom's death at the end was good though). Grantly deserved much more and should have had character returns for his funeral. It used to tackle some great storylines. Maybe it'll be rebooted one day.

BIB (1): yes, Christine's alcohol story was very good, the scene that always sticks in my mind is her going into the school with two different shoes on after getting changed whilst drunk.

BIB (2) : That was one of the only things that I didn't like, I didn't think it was necessary for Tom to be killed off, he could have just left the school and moved on.

Had a look online. The box sets are pretty expensive to buy.

All of the episodes are on youtube, that's where I've been watching them, the quality isn't great, but it's watchable

I've been re-watching some episodes lately, and as much as I didn't like to see it go, I think I agree with the producers (or whoever) in that it had run it's course. I've noticed that some of the stoylines have been recycled a few times (for e.g a teacher paying a student to keep the class quiet) was done a few times.

Overall though I'm enjoying re-watching the episodes (Series 5 atm)
