That's why I say it's fan fiction. It's not storyline related in terms of taking the show forward. I can't get worked up about it positive or negative as it will be blink and it's forgotten about.

You know if there was more build up and he wasn't back for only one episode might have a bit more substance but seems just a cheap ploy, why not just wait till he back for his 3 weeks.

Sharon and Grant have always had a spark, they were each others first true loves. The writers cannot forget that never happened. One minute people on here are crying about continuity being a mess then when the writers actually acknowledge something important they are met with the comments we see in this thread. Its not as if they having an affair, tonight is his only appearance until he returns in the summer. The show cannot win.

Tonights episode is written by Sarah Phelps who knows Sharon better than any writer. She knows exactly what she is doing.”

Very true.

I think it makes sense Grant making a move on her given his emotions will be running high, but I'm really hoping Sharon stops it after maybe a fleeting kiss. She's a lot older and wiser than she was before, and she's clearly not over Phil.

How strange that Grant would share a scene with the woman he spent most of the early 90's married to. You'd almost think this was a tv show where characters who know each other are supposed to interact. Too bad it's not like real life where you completely blank people you're familiar with and spend your time conversing about your dying mother with strangers like Bonnie Langford.

Sharongate put 90's EastEnders on the map. It's still relevant. You can either accept that or cry into your milk about boring Denise being underused. Can't wait for all the classic characters to dominate the show for the next few weeks.

Hopefully Grant will have a quick bunk up with Linda as well as Sharon. Let's face it Grant is far more of a man than Mick could ever hope to be.

Yep. Real men beat their wives. Good old Grant.
