I'd switch those first 2, Kush and Belinda and Roxy and Max, I think they would be fun pairings.

Poor Johnny gets the short straw. He should choose the paramedic.

Agreed, the Paramedic would be great as a regular and the show only has two younger gay guys, three but Paul is leaving and it would be nice to see an older guy.

Somehow I can't imagine Kush playing stepdad to Amy when he wants absolutely nothing to do with his own son. Kush would be better suited to a woman with no baggage like Belinda.

I'm curious to see how they're going to make Ben and Johnny work at this point. It's not like they've really laid any groundwork for them getting together; the one scene they've shared, they didn't even seem to like each other very much, particularly Ben who came across as hostile towards Johnny. We've then got Ben and Paul fairly loved up (well, as loved up as someone like Ben Mitchell can be), and Johnny getting interest from a handsome, professional older guy who would be much more on his level, intellectually and socially speaking, than Ben.

The one thing we know is that Paul is leaving, which does suggest that Johnny and Ben are going to end up together somehow, because god forbid a Mitchell stays single for long. But the question is whether Paul leaves as a result of something happening between Johnny and Ben, or whether the two of them only get together once Paul is out of the picture.

Personally, I would really hate to see Johnny getting involved in an affair with Ben while Ben's still with Paul, it would just be incredibly out of character for him. I do wonder if maybe now his exams are finished he accepts a date with Tom, the two of them get into a relationship, and Ben starts to get jealous. Paul could then notice, which could be why he leaves - though that doesn't sound very 'explosive' which is what we've been promised.

How tedious. Only available partners are already living on Square.

I would like to see Belinda with Max as I think she will also get along well with Cora and Lauren.

I don't mind Ben and Johnny getting together; Johnny needs a purpose and a life outside of the Carters where he's really just there to make up the numbers. And there is the potential for a good dramatic relationship if he gets together with Ben, though I would worry about Ben's anger issues and how easily the relationship could become toxic and borderline abusive.

What I don't want is to see the kind of insipid writing that's engulfed the Ben/Paul relationship where Paul has acted purely as a function for Ben to do his repressed closeted homosexual routine. If Johnny becomes an accessory for the Ben Mitchell show, I won't be happy. They need decent, robust writing that sells them as a believable couple. The lesbian couples on the show (Tina/Tosh, Tina/Sonia) have flopped, Ben/Paul have flopped, they need to have one gay couple on the show that are actually compelling and interesting to watch.

With all of that said, however, my ideal scenario would be bringing in an alpha male character who just happens to be gay, but is compelling and mysterious in his own right. Andy would have been perfect, though apparently I'm not allowed to say that on here as the straight males on this forum tend to get butthurt as they've claimed him for one of their own despite the fact that we don't know anything about his sexuality other than he flirts with both genders very easily. Anyway, get a character like that, establish him in a storyline, then get him together with Johnny. Or have Johnny start a hot affair with his gorgeous lecturer. Either of those scenarios are fine with me. Then have Ben and Jay finally admit their love for each other.

Problem solved.

Jonny a trainee lawyer with Ben who was been in prison for manslaughter and comes from a criminal family. Talk about ridiculous.

I've not seen anything to suggest Ben and Johnny will get together.

They are setting Johnny up for that Tom Pepper bloke who is still filming at EE.

She's just got away from one rat, I don't want to see her with another. Kush is a much better idea. It would involve him with the Slaters/Fowlers on another level....and it would get right up Carmel's nose.

Lady Di and Wellard 2 really needs to happen. With DTC gone, I hear they are negotiating a new contract with the actress. She was suspended as she had the balls to speak out over the favouritism of Danny Dyer. Although it did her career no harm, as she just finished a recurring arc on The Bold and The Beautiful in the US.

Johnny needs a storyline.
