I was looking forward to seeing Peggy again, but just having her in the show for five episodes seems a bit of a let down. She only saw the doctor last week for him to say there was nothing they could do and tonight she is going to be killed off

Do you mean five episodes?

Anyway, yes it does seem a little rushed. Maybe Barbara Windsor didn't want a long drawn out demise.

Spoiler

We first found out that Peggy has terminal cancer in January and BW was involved in planning the storyline so presumably this is what she wanted.

yes 100%

considering they are killng her off out of respect to Dame Barbara they aren't actually treating her or Peggy with any respect.

EE have serious creativity issues

Yeah I really do think it's rushed. Originally we had rumours of a six week stint! But it's only like 6 epsiodes! And the returns with Grant and Sam have been poorly planned imo. But hopefully tonight's episode will make up for all of that and be a great send off for Pegs.

Yeah, I had hoped the final stint would be a little longer than a few episodes.

I was hoping Peggy would stick around a bit longer. Not asking for it to drag on but at least a little bit longer than just a week. I still feel like there was more closure to be made before her final moments.

Yesterday's episode wasn't that great IMO and it just doesn't feel satisfying for some reason but maybe today's episode will change that feeling.

I am pleased Ross Kemp's acting has improved.

Gutted the storyline is as rushed as it is though, should have been over 2-3weeks with ALL the Mitchells being back.

I'm glad Grant and Pat came back to honour Peggy.

How many more times does it have to be said Babs Windsor didn't want to come back for more episodes than this. No amount of complaining or blaming DTC is going to change that. Peggy left EE in 2010.

then they should of used their creativity, instead of wasting her scenes with ppl like
ian, stacey, a flipping blackbird! they should have made it all about the mitchells,
phil, grant, sam, ronnie, roxy, the kids, aunt sal and used Peggy where needed.

oh and they could have spread it out over weeks intermingled with other stories instead of storyblocking it.

all it has done is show that EE needs a new creative team and fast

I found it frustrating how quickly everything happened, it all seemed too rushed, especially when you think how other story lines a whole day will be dragged out over the course of a week.

I agree, the whole Peggy story was over hyped (as usual) and rushed.

For a character as legendary as Peggy she deserved to be back for up to one month to tie up loose ends properly.

This would have allowed time for her to make proper amends with people she had issues with and to say goodbye properly.

More time would have allowed for a proper Mitchell family reunion with far more interaction between Peggy and Grant and Sam being included in the mix.

Instead we will see Sam back soon with no on-screen interaction with Peggy or Grant, that to me is just plain stupid.

DTC has done some great things with EE over the last few years but this, his final swansong has been somewhat of a let down overall. Yes he did good by actually bring back a deceased character on screen but the whole week has just felt to shoehorned into everything else.

Agree, It wouldn't of been so much hassle for it to of gone on for at least two weeks, a death on a Tuesday, stupid scenes with every tom, dick and harry and not her family except Phil.

It just felt like a huge let down, but this isn't surprising anymore.

It wasn't great, I actually think Pat's departure was handled far better, at least her sons both had screentime the night of her death, Sam hasn't even arrived, its ridiculous.
