What were your highs and lows of DTC's reign?

Highs

The Carter family - simply brilliant!
Stacey and Martin - I love them together.
Denise - He finally made her interesting.
Bringing back Grant, Jack, Johnny, Pat, Peggy and Kathy
The who killed Lucy Beale story hype and feeling was amazing.
Nick Cotton's death.
Killing off Fatboy
Ben & Jay

Lows

Having Dean rape Linda - huge mistake!
Gavin - worst baddy EVER
Sharon and Phil getting married
Kush being Arthurs father
Coker the cross dresser
Claudette
Tina and Sonia
Jane's role in Lucy's death cover up

I hope when SOC takes over, he will make ee less depressing. But bloody hell DTC has made this show so depressing.

Add Shabnam's stillbirth to his list of highs. A beautifully written plot and amazingly acted by a talented young woman who quit the show too soon.

Reviving Kat's character was another big plus.

Belinda and Carmel have been great additions so far.

One low was his complete and utter wreckage of Ronnie and Charlie. Charlie deserved so much better than the absolute crap he was given in 2015, and then they write him out when they decide they've got nothing for him.

I have loved his entire tenure with the show. Say what you like, but he has had everyone talking about the show again (Danny Dyer casting, Lucy's murder, unannounced character returns, Linda's rape, Shabnam's still birth and now Peggy's finale).

People forget just how terribly, terribly bad the show was before him - he leaves with the show in a strong position for someone else to come in an invigorate, rather than leave it in desperate need of rescue.

Being a producer on a soap is like being Prime Minister - the majority have hope you'll be good, they like you for a while and then start to resent you having the top job towards the end.

But when many, many ex cast members say they'd be happy to return and specifically mention management, you know he was doing something right.

Bringing back Sonia for a perment return was the lowest this man sank too, I still suspect he did it just to wind me up.

The Hubbard drama at Easter was good. Pshyco Bobby has been a fun Watch. Denise has been given more material

I don't really get the Sonia hate tbh, I think she's fine. She was brought back because all the family were there, it's not DTC's fault that Patsy and Lindsay decided to go

I'm sure you haven't heard this before... but as soon as Denise wasn't the killer of Lucy and I didn't win my rightful £1,989 I lost all respect for DTC and his crew.

Very true Aaron, but she is still there now and its a growing concern for the viewers.

Good riddance. I won't miss his arrogance, his lies, his attitude towards the established history, kick in the teeth after kick in the teeth to fans of the show.

Hopefully the new bloke clears out all of Dom's team.

Is there any word on when he'll be releasing his statement of apology? It's presumably soon.

The storylines for the next few months will still be his. Wasn't the baby swap story Kirkwood's bashed for Santer's idea?

My only issues with DTC's reign are that the block storytelling got a bit too much sometimes and this lead to some storylines getting too much focus and others not enough. Overall I'm a big fan of his era but my main qualms were:
- Gavin was a lacklustre villain all round really.
- The lack of consequences to Shirley shooting Phil.
- Sonia and Tina's badly developed romance.
- The never-ending consequences of Lucy's murder, which while realistic in the sense that those events never stop reaching far is still tiresome to watch.
