The average was 6.9m which is good, by current standards, for this time of year and a 37% share the highest for ages. 8m / 41% was the peak. It is likely to time shift well.

41% share is massive but if 41% is 8 million that means not many people were watching TV last night. Viewer habits have changed so much in the past few years.

Be interesting to see the officials in a few weeks time going off that peak figure.

Mail seems to have a negative spin on the ratings which are ok but not fantastic wrong day of the week and possibly wrong time of year

I'm not sure where they got their figures from. The equivalent episode last year had 6.59m (34.9%). The episode DID in fact boost figures. It's up 800k from last Tuesday and will no doubt timeshift more than usual. Daily Mail talking rubbish as usual.

I have to be honest, I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping for at least 9 to 9.5. The episodes have been hyped, there are extra programmes to celebrate Peggy and Peggy was an iconic character. The share is great though.

If the LIVE anniversary could only get 10.8 million (Which was hyped way more and is still outstanding for this day and age), then I don't see why this episode in the summer months would have got 9-9.5 million. That was wishful thinking in my opinion.

I know it was wishful thinking. I just thought more people would view it as an end of an era and make it a must watch. There's not really many iconic characters left and I thought people would be interested in the way of death as much as the character.

As for the live episode, the format has been done to death by every soap so I'm not shocked it didn't rate higher.

It was the end of an era when she left the first time.

the then producer should have had the balls to kill her.

that being said I did enjoy her brief appearances

Her original exit in 2010 didn't get a MASSIVE figure for the time tbh. It averaged under 9 million, and that was only just over a normal Friday rating in September back then.

I think it's all to do with the time of year it plays out.

10.8 million and a peak of 12 million was pretty exceptional for February 2015 (Soap wise) AND it did clash with Emmerdale, which was a ridiculous move by ITV. If it wasn't for the clash, I think it could have easily got around a 12 million average.

Completely average ratings, yet more proof (as if it were needed) that the audience have firmly rejected Dom's fan fiction version of Eastenders.

Thanks.

I guess not being part of the main cast for nearly 6 years may have played a part. Her initial exit was seen by 10m. So she came back to die really. I think Dot's death will get huge ratings though. She's probably the most iconic character of them all, and is still in it!
