The Age of Streaming
As a society, we're progressing into a new way of watching our favourite shows - with Netflix and Amazon Prime often releasing full series at once instead of on an episode-by-episode basis. While at the moment there seems to still be a room for soaps (Peggy's final episode peaked at 8million last night), how long will soaps last in theory? By their nature, they can't really be released in batches...

I think the format has to dramatically evolve: more audience participation.
The tradtional just static stare at the screen viewer experience is rapidly dying out. |

I think soaps will always be present in some form or another, In about 20 years they may start to move online (possibly where episodes will be shown first) but I think they will still be repeated on mainstream television too. Soaps are like the news, they will always be there and won't die out imo.
