Here are the details of talkSPORT's coverage during the first few weeks of Euro 2016 as listed on talkSPORT.com. And that's as far as the talkSPORT.com listings go. A few things to note commentary-wise - I've heard Jim Proudfoot billed on-air as being talkSPORT's England commentator, so you can pencil him in for their games, plus Ian Danter has tweeted that he'll mostly be working with Danny Gabbidon, Keith Gillespie and Matt Holland, so I think we can expect him on most games (bar England v Wales) involving the Celtic nations. We know Gary Taphouse starts with Albania v Switzerland on the first Saturday and I think he and Alan Parry will mostly do games without home nation involvement - although given that Saggers and Stan are there, I reckon Jim will commentate on France v Romania in the opening game.
Nice to see Danny Gabbidon is involved in talkSPORT's England v Wales coverage - hopefully he'll be co-commentating with Jim and Stan to keep things reasonably even-handed - and that talkSPORT haven't ditched coverage of the 5pm kick-off to do a phone-in (although I'm sure much of the 4-5pm hour will be devoted to calls). Perhaps they might have moved the 5pm kick-off to talkSPORT 2 had it not involved a home nation, but it's Ukraine v Northern Ireland which they are absolute right to have on the main station. I see coverage of the 8pm kick-off that night is the only game to be listed under the Kick Off moniker - which may or may not indicate the 7-8pm hour will be England v Wales and Ukraine v Northern Ireland reaction before they get into the commentary.
It'll be interesting to hear Hawksbee & Jacobs host coverage of Belgium v Republic of Ireland on the second Sunday - I know they've hosted match coverage before, I remember them doing so during the 2006 World Cup, and Paul Hawksbee has hosted straight football programmes on Sky Sports and very occasionally as a cover host on talkSPORT in the past - but it's rare to hear them outside of their normal afternoon environment these days. Matt Smith will be hosting coverage of the 1pm game on the first Sunday, while Colin Murray will anchor a few games too.
