As well as Conor McNamara and Danny Mills, Thierry Henry is also doing co-commentary as confirmed by Dan Walker for tonight's game on 5Live.

Dan Walker presenting coverage of France v Romania alongside Thierry Henry and commentary from Conor McNamara, Danny Mills and Thierry Henry.
Thierry played a full part in the commentary speaking as much if not more than Danny Mills. A set-up of this nature is quite unusual on 5Live, usually if they have a second co-commentator, they chip in at various points during the half for major incidents and the like. I enjoyed the commentary very much.

I enjoyed the 5live commentary as well Mills and Henry worked well together, and I think Henry was excellent. Maybe a future in Radio for him?

probably not a major one pundits seem to see radio as a demotion from TV so unless Sky drop him I can only see him doing radio work at tournaments such as this. He was great though-- at first I wasn't sure how this particular set-up would sound but as Paul says, they played off each other really well-- and a great goal call from Conor and Thierry for the winner.
Its Ian Brown and Trevor Sinclair for the Albania v Switzerland game tomorrow afternoon by the way. I'll post full details tomorrow night (unless someone else has done it already) but as this is the next game just thought I'd flag it up.

Thierry Henry is at this game for BBC TV as a pundit, will be interesting to see if he is as good as a pundit as he was on Radio today. Having said that I thought he was brilliant at the World Cup as a pundit, so likely more of the same.

I am sure I read somewhere that all Ian Browns games are going to be off-tube,hope this is not the case for his opening game!

Phil Wye has confirmed tomorrow's details and the first game is off tube. I think all of Ian's games will be.

Yep, Ian is off tube and he seems to be with Trevor Sinclair as standard as they are doing a game together later in the week as well. I've got no evidence for this so it's just an idea but I do wonder if Ian Brown not going to tournaments may be a personal choice for him? he was off air for a long time some years back with health issues and it seems he's been building up the amount of commentaries he's done season by season. off tube or not though he's a class act.

Interesting bit of money saving there.

Are Radio Cymru there, or are they doing an off tube or anything?

You are maybe right, I would not be happy if I was an employee of an company and I was always getting the worst gigs whilst my colleagues were getting the exciting gigs.

Having said that Phil Wye did say they were doing some games off-tube due to "logistical" reasons, whatever that means, and I am sure I read somewhere that 5live off tube games will be from the media centre in Paris.

Ian Danter is blogging from France during Euro 2016 on his personal website. Here are the first two editions: #1 & #2. Adrian Durham is also doing a blog for talkSPORT.com, the most recent one being here.

I'll post the full details later on when the games have aired, but here are today's talkSPORT commentary teams:

Albania v Switzerland - Gary Taphouse and Danny Higginbotham
Wales v Slovakia - Ian Danter and Danny Gabbidon
England v Russia - Jim Proudfoot and Stan Collymore

Adrian Durham is hosting the build-up to at least the first kick-off from Marseille, while Mark Saggers will be anchoring the England coverage from inside the Stade Velodrome. I'm not sure when the presenting change will take place or how many additional analysts will be contributing to the England commentary (Joey Barton and Stuart Pearce are listed in the schedule, but the latter was listed last night and wasn't involved in the end).

I noticed that 5 Live made the point of saying that they were handing over to their "studio based team" before the Albania v Switzerland match. Seldom heard TalkSport presenters being that honest with listeners.

Yes, 5Live have always stated when they are doing a 'studio based' commentary.

The BBC's commentary on the Wales match is being broadcast on TSN in Canada, including on 1040 AM in southern British Columbia.

I wonder if it is also being broadcast to the welsh community in Argentina. I'm sure they are following some how...

Wales v Slovakia (UEFA Euro2016 Group B)

BBC Radio Wales - Ian Hunt (host from stadium) with Kevin Ratcliffe aso there. Rob Phillips and John Hartson commentated, whilst Katie Dalson was at the fans park in Bordeaux and Jason Phelps at the fans park that was only announced a few days ago in Cardiff. (All frequencies / Online / 5 Live simulcast for 0-90)

Iwan Roberts and Kevin Ratcliffe stayed for the 'Call Rob Phillips' whilst Ian Hunt went around to 'grab some interviews'

BBC Radio Cymru - Owain Llyr (live from stadium) with commentary from Dylan Griffiths and Iwan Roberts. John Hartson was also used for a bit, and Jason Phelps reported from Cardiff. (All frequencies / Online / BBC Red Button alternative audio)

Carl Roberts and Alun Williams hosted their 'Carl ac Alun' beforehand with Alun Williams breaking into Spanish for a few words whilst attempting to speak to some french passers by, as, in his words "I've been to Spain so may times and with Bordeaux not that far away - I forget where I am". Lucky git also got a ticket as well.

I thought the BBC Radio Wales/5 Live simulcast commentary on the Wales v Slovakia game was great, befitting such a superb Wales performance. I listened to it while watching the game via the Red Button and thought Rob Phillips and John Hartson were on top form, despite both being close to losing their voices at points such was the amount of exciting action in the game. You could tell how much the match meant to them.

Having caught talkSPORT's goal highlights later on, I thought Ian Danter and Danny Gabbidon did well describing the key action too - I particularly enjoyed hearing Danny lose the plot in the background as the Wales goals went in!

Saturday 11th June - talkSPORT

Matchday Live Euro Special presented by Adrian Durham in Marseille (1-6pm) and then by Mark Saggers from the Stade Velodrome (7-10pm), followed by Call Collymore from the Stade Velodrome

UEFA Euro 2016 Group A
Albania v Switzerland - Gary Taphouse and Danny Higginbotham (2pm commentary)

UEFA Euro 2016 Group B
Wales v Slovakia - Ian Danter and Danny Gabbidon (5pm commentary), with Dave Williams producing
England v Russia - Jim Proudfoot and Stan Collymore (8pm commentary), with Stuart Pearce and Joey Barton providing in-game analysis, Nigel Adderley at pitchside and James Dodd and Sal Ahmad producing

Cricket: Third Test Match
England v Sri Lanka - Jon Norman

Ian Abrahams was reporting from the Paris fanpark ahead of the Wales match, while Nigel Adderley was at pitchside to update substitutions etc during the England match. In contrast, they didn't have a pitchside reporter at the Wales game. I don't think talkSPORT have a reporter attached to the Wales squad - their regular South Wales football correspondent Laurence Mora is currently covering the England v Sri Lanka Test match for IRN stations.

I heard the whole of the Wales game on talksport and Dants and Danny Gabbidon were great. Dants is an under used commentator at talksport IMO with him being far superior to Sam Matterface (although that isn't necesarily difficult). I've heard Danny Gabbidon a bit last season doing various co-commentaries particularly on BBC London when he co-commentated at our game against Palace. IMO he's one to watch in the future.

Yep. Their commentary for yesterday's New Zealand v Wales rugby union game wasn't though.
