talkSPORT didn't have a pitchside reporter on duty at France v Republic of Ireland, although Ian Abrahams conducted the post-match interviews that I heard. I'm not sure if their regular Republic of Ireland correspondent David Brady contributed anything to today's coverage. During the build-up hour to the second commentary game, Nigel Adderley filed his latest report from the England camp in Chantilly.

Kelly Cates presented the first 2 games yesterday and Mark C then did the latter game from 7:30 onwards.

The afternoon schedule wasn't really impacted yesterday by news other than the 7-8 slot where 7-7:30 was a news show.

Kelly was joined by John Motson, Julien Laurens, Dean Saunders & Brian Hamilton to discuss Wales/NI (not Juliens though) & Juliens then replaced Dean & Brian to build up to the ROI game. She was then joined by Raphael Hongenstein around the Germany game and Kevin Kilbane/Lawro after the ROI game.

Mark previewed the England game with Danny Mills & John Murray before the last game of the day.

Today's show starts at 4:50 rather than 4:30 to allow more time for news/tennis

If Waddle is sick, why not use Lawro who is available and is used to summarising on Radio, especially for England matches?

It would be better than having Waddle summarising off-tube.

Dan Walker is going to be in the stadium, so why not pair him up with Alan Green for 606? No disrespect to Waddle who is a fantastic summariser, but trying to use him off-tube is not acceptable imo for a game of this magnitude

It is disappointing that Conor McNamara would rather read his notes than commentate on the action, unlike the TalkSport commentator.

I found that with McNamara quite often on rugby games on BBC TV in the Six Nations the past few years. Rattle through 100 stats and never tell us who's on the ball and what is happening.

Funnily enough, I was thinking of opening one as The New Saints begin their Champions League qualifying campaign tomorrow and BBC Radio Shropshire will be doing commentary on it!

Over on talkSPORT 2, Adrian Durham presented an extra hour of build-up to England v Iceland from 6pm - although returned to talkSPORT to do the full-time link at the end of the Italy v Spain game, so I'm not sure how they managed that over on DAB. Prior to the start of Euro 2016 Live, Adrian was doing vox pops with the England fans in Nice which were heard in the pre-match build-up and at half-time in Italy v Spain. Nigel Adderley was on pitchside reporting duty in Nice, while Ian Abrahams was only conducting the post-match interviews in Paris.

It'll be interesting to see how talkSPORT's coverage develops now that England have been knocked out. Once Roy Hodgson's squad returns home, I'd like to see Nigel Adderley redeployed into the Wales camp seeing as talkSPORT don't have a specific reporter there and have been relying on Danny Gabbidon to conduct interviews from Dinard.

I imagine Adrian Durham will be hosting Drive Time from France (probably Paris) for the rest of the week, before returning home after the quarter-finals. With all of the remaining fixtures being 8pm kick-offs, I wonder if Adrian will be involved in any more of the live match coverage. I suspect he might host at least one of the weekend quarter-finals, probably the Saturday game. As for the weekday daytime programmes, Colin Murray and Keith Gillespie presented their last mid-morning Colin & Friends show from Paris before returning home, Hawksbee & Jacobs hosted their first show back in the UK on Monday and it seems like Alan Brazil and the Sports Breakfast crew (bar Ian Abrahams) have been back in London for a while (I don't listen often so don't know when they got back)

I heard a few quarter-final commentary details announced today - Ian Danter mentioned that he'd be commentating on Germany v Italy with Stuart Pearce on Saturday, while Stan Collymore said at full-time tonight that he and Jim Proudfoot will "hopefully" be at France v Iceland on Sunday. Matt Holland has tweeted that he has covered his final game of the tournament, which is a shame as I was hoping he'd be staying on until the quarters. He and Dants were excellent on Italy v Spain. I imagine Jim and Dants will commentate on two quarter-finals each and I know Stan is due to co-commentate on two last eight matches. As Danny Gabbidon is staying out in France with Wales (Colin Murray mentioned he was moving into the talkSPORT apartment in Paris this week) I imagine he'll co-commentate on Wales v Belgium (perhaps as part of a three man team with Stan). From there on in, it should be Mark Saggers, Jim, Stan and perhaps Danny should Wales progress handling the semi-finals and the final.

Ian Dennis unless he is assigned commentary duties at the expense of another commentator is likely to go home.

Quite a few more BBC personnel you would think be likely to be sent home now.

Yes, that message to Adrian Durham just appears to be a friendly, light-hearted reference to how Mark Saggers likes a rant when England crash out of major tournaments.

Jonathan Wall was 5 Live's Head of Sport for much of Saggers' tenure there, so they'll know each other and I presume they get on well enough. Unlike some of his predecessors, Wall has always been very friendly when referring to talkSPORT publically. There seems to be absolutely no tension between the stations these days, the social media exchanges between broadcasters and producers from the two always seems to be very cordial.

So John Murray gets 2 games, not sure why you need 2 commentators for France vs Iceland? Surely Germany vs Italy would be more of a worthy shout for 2 commentators?

Maybe they made the arrangements assuming England would win and didn't bother to change them.

Must be the lowest workload Alan Green has ever had at a tournament, done less matches than the other main guys who are there when he normally does most.

I wonder given the gap between matches whether any of them come home for a few days? I see Ian Danter mentioned in one of his blogs that he had.

Finally been some excellent discussions on 5 Live over the last couple of nights on England and then previewing the quarter finals. Mark Chapman has chaired them brilliantly, I think he's probably over taken Mark Pougatch as my favourite radio football host now, and Danny Murphy was also excellent.

Ian Danter has tweeted that he and Stuart Pearce will be talkSPORT's commentary team at Poland v Portugal. Dants has already mentioned on-air that he and Stuart will be commentating on Germany v Italy on Saturday.

So, that implies that Jim Proudfoot and Stan Collymore will be talkSPORT's team at Wales v Belgium (with Danny Gabbidon) and France v Iceland. Indeed Mark Saggers mentioned at the end of tonight's Kick Off that he and Jim would be in "Lille and at the Stade de France" before going to both semi-finals and the final. Tonight's show was mostly a quarter-final preview programme with Mark, Jim and Germany-based journalist Jonathan Harding from DW, although the first hour was an England retrospective that Mark hosted with Adrian Durham and Nigel Adderley, all five being in Paris. Last night's Kick Off was a full-on England discussion with Mark, Jim and various others in Paris.

Alan Brazil is a tool, a complete and utter shock jock, he is the perfect example of why you don't need any talent to become a radio presenter, he is the loud, rowdy guy you meet in the pub, shouting and being obnoxious to get everyone's attention.

Anyway back on topic, as mentioned before its likely most of the 5live staff and talkSPORT staff are going home in between games, apart from John Murray, the 5live commentators are only getting 1 game each. You would think most of them would have gone home for a few days, leaving Skelton staff behind to look after equipment and deal with other issues.

I think after the quarters, 5live will not send any of their commentators home, most likely use 2 commentators for each of the semi final.

After that Conor and ABB would go home and leave the final to John Murray and Alan Green.

might have dmade this up but I'mpretty sure I remember reading either on hereor twitter that they'll have a 2 man commentary team for 1 of the semifinals and a 1 man team (plus co-com obviously) for the final. This depends on Wales obviously as if they make it through then Rob Philips will stay out there. my money would be on ABB coming back after his quarter final and, depending on the make-up of the semi finals, Conor may be on his way home after this weekend as well. If Wales don't make it through, I'd expect maybe Green and Murray on 1 semi and McNamara on the other. whatever happens, I'd lay odds that ABB won't get a semi final and thats not knocking him as I really rate him but its a reflection of where he seems to be on the pecking order.
