Time check to prove it's live.
He hesitated for a millisecond thinking about what the hour was 7 minutes to.

Sorry Ursula, I'm one. But, I'd rather listen to that than this any day.

The real vocalist on The Lion Sleeps Tonight was apparently Roy Ward of City Boy:

Thankfully I know that's not true. Please don't inflict stress like that on me again Mr T!

We usually get a bit more of the playout on the late edition.

Why couldn't Kenny Everett have presented TOTP in character like that. It would have been brilliant.

So the Kenny Everett Television Show was on BBC1 at 8pm after TOTP. Just compare that to the tedious daytime style drivel you get now at 8pm, Zelebrity Masterchef.

Well The Associates get 10/10, that's a given. Rest of the show, it's a 7/10 from me. Couple of stinkers but pretty good stuff on the whole.

And of course 'Snot Rap' makes an appearance on the chart next year.

Was good to see Kenny Everett make an appearance, good bit of cross promotion

Nice little kiss as well to throw Mary Whitehouse into hysterics

Can you remember him getting his own Top Ten hit single early in 1983 with Snot Rap?

I enjoyed that one more than I expected to, given all the repeats. Haven't heard the Pluto song since 1982 so will be watching the full edition.

From what I can remember of it I'm seriously surprised it used to be on that early. I suppose there was no watershed back then.
