Got this on video somewhere - here's the Trouble At Top prog about the feud between Bobby G and David Van Day.

Well I'm giving Thurday's edition a 9 and a quarter out of ten - my fave edition of 1982 so far. Only one song I wasn't so keen on and annoying that it was an edited edition. Hoping a full version turns up on online.
Agreed with the Kid that Spandau's Instinction was an excellent way to start the programme. Great production from Trevor Horn which gave them the hit that pretty much rescued their career. Gary and Martin really seemed to be enjoying themselves. I'm guessing instinction is a mash-up of the words instinct and intuition.
A shame they couldn't get Roxy Music into the studio again, I don't recall seeing the video before which was a bonus. The flames did make me think of The Goombay Dance Band. Maybe if they'd done a bit of fire-eating they'd have got to number 1! It did seem a bit creepy, though, the way Bryan seemed to be admiring himself on screen at the end.
I've moaned more than once about the staging for Shakatak, so of course I was pleased to see the girls finally get their moment in the spotlight instead of being hidden at the back and Zoo only appearing just briefly at the end.
Loved seeing the new performance of Dollar's Give Me Back My Heart that I hadn't seen before. I think they've one last hit before we'll not see them on the pops for quite awhile
Bit of a downer with Simple Minds. Promise You A Miracle isn't their worst song but I couldn't bear the performance. Jim Kerr looked like he was drunk or on drugs and the way he kept moving around and up and down made me feel dizzy. Probably nerves and wanting to make a good impression on their TOTP debut but it was hard to watch.
Poor Sheila who also should have been making her TOTP debut but ended up in hospital having to have her appendix out so won't appear for another fortnight. Really like Ever So Lonely and Zoo did a decent routine to it too.
Can never tire of seeing Bardo doing One Step Further, and another performance I hadn't seen before. Nice to know Sally Ann was watching. I don't know if she'll be aware of this thread, but I'm sure she'd be pleased that it is generally being remembered fondly on here.
Well I'm sure I'm not the only one who wanted to cheer when it was announced that the Goombay Dance Band had fallen to number 4, making way at the top for the excellent My Camera Never Lies - and a new performance too. Jay's mock stern look and finger wagging in this routine always cracks me up. So I'm presuming she was the one responsible for the awful outfits the guys were wearing.
It would've topped of a fantastic edition had Altered Images been in the studio to perform See Those Eyes instead of having to make do with the audience dancing to it, but better than it not been featured again at all.
I don't think this has already been posted, but for anyone wondering what shunted TOTP out of its usual slot it was the Young Musician Of The Year wind and brass final. So if you tuned in at the wrong time you got actual brass instead of Craig Fairbrass!
