This was the start of Shalamar's run of 6 top-notch hits: I Can Make You Feel Good, A Night To Remember, There It Is, Friends, Dead Giveaway, and Disappearing Act in August 1983. My favourites are probably There It Is and Disappearing Act.

A Little Peace is a decent song, if maybe a little twee with the lyrics in places.

Shalamar are one of my favs from the early 80's, as for Jeffrey Daniels - LEGEND - the man who taught Michael Jackson to do the Moonwalk.

A family member works at the main hotel in my hometown and because of this I got wind of him coming along and observed Shaky a couple of years back when he stayed there while touring. He seemed lovely and accommodating and had a picture taken with people which now adorns a wall in the place. There was nothing unpleasant about him whatsoever. This was late after a long day and a lot of travelling as well. That is my personal experience.

I noticed something last night on another thread in another section of DS written by a well known contributor on here, who had found a post from a couple of years ago that was defamatory about him and wrote on the public thread that he was going to have words in private about his "falsehood" with the poster in question. Reading tonight this person who said the offending comments offered a wholesome grovelling apology for their comment on that public thread. I bet they got a shock that something they wrote ages ago came back to bite them. He got a "glorious" result there!

I form an opinion (is that still allowed here or did I miss the memo?) based on what I've read and seen of him on TV in interviews and he comes across badly and that's before I factor in the godawful music. I'm far from the first person to think that.

The footy team didn't get it right in '82, quelle surprise, but at least whoever edited the show tonight did. Although they cut one of the classiest and best singles released in 1982 out - PhD's I Won't Let You Down. Well they did by leaving this out of the early showing.

What's happening to the late evening showing of TOTP anyway? It used to be at around midnight so many of us had a late night second "live" go at it unedited, yet it's been slipping later and later, tonight it's on at the silly time of 2.25am to 3am. No real reason it could not have been placed 2 hours earlier.

I know I shouldn't laugh - but that is quite funny!

I must admit - I can't see why there is so much hate for 'Ebony & Ivory' either - it certainly wasn't the worst song tonight!

And yet - as is so often the case in music - the relationships between the members of the group deteriorated more as every one of those hits went by.

WHAAATT ??? - They cut out PhD from tonight's show?! Wtf - it must be one of the best songs of 1982!!!! - I'm recording the repeat! I need to see that song!!!!
