"Jazz funk at its best" - not a great recommendation for me.

Having said that, where are the jazz and funk in this?
I would have loved to play jazz funk like this if I had learnt the piano.

Wikipedia (yeah, I know) suggests the reverse. Apparently it was on Lynott's 1980 LP, someone at TOTP liked the tune, they got rid of the vocals and remixed it for TOTP.

Because it was a class piece of music, and got free promotion every week on TOTP they decided to release it properly as a 45.

Good decision, great song
No idea when or where I read it, but it may have been 34 years ago!

As long as you are not his weight, you should be okay.

Poor man. I heard that he collapsed doing a concert a few days ago. Hope he'll be okay. I saw a documentary about him a year ago, and he appears to be a really good bloke.
I know. He's almost 70 now. Maybe needs to take it a bit easier.

Diana Ross wearing a rather revealing top in her promo shot.

And if I thought the Snowmen looked messed up, the Tweets are off the scale.

Just think, the great man was laying down Blade Runner tracks at this same time. We are indeed, not worthy.

Boy, that's a small guitar.

Powell was right, this is a superb song.

The Fairbrass is everywhere at all times, but most of all, in our hearts.

It's a silent Guitar, like the G in Gnome.

He says his sun rises in the east but he pointed westwards. This guy won't be finding his way home any time soon.

At least they never had a bassoon player in the background!

Great performance from The Mobiles - even if they are a bit too much like Siouxsie!! Surprised they didn't have more hits!
Trivia alert: I recall Tommy Vance saying on the Sunday evening Top Forty chart rundown at the time that all the men in that group had dark hair which had been bleached - but the black haired female singer was a natural blonde.
