Great performance from The Mobiles - even if they are a bit too much like Siouxsie!! Surprised they didn't have more hits!
Trivia alert: I recall Tommy Vance saying on the Sunday evening Top Forty chart rundown at the time that all the men in that group had dark hair which had been bleached - but the black haired female singer was a natural blonde.

He says his sun rises in the east but he pointed westwards. This guy won't be finding his way home any time soon.

You can't beat a recording studio photo montage instrumental break.

They might as well be playing a washboard and a kazoo for all the relevance they have to the record.

Your radio show sounds like a fresh and exciting listen, Pete.

Sod's law dictates that the moment you rub your nose is the moment the camera cuts to you.

And Phil Oakey seems to be wearing paper clips as earrings.

What's Susanne done to deserve not having a spotlight?

Yep, this is a new one isn't it? At least Jo won't get a mouthful this time around!

Diana Ross wearing a rather revealing top in her promo shot.

And if I thought the Snowmen looked messed up, the Tweets are off the scale.
I am gonna admit it. I lke The Birdy Song, by the Tweets. It is just a bit of fun.

I do dislike Rock and Roll by Status Quo. Rock and Roll it ain't............

plus it's a **** song

Well at least not on camera. Oh er missus.

The girls look more homely compared to the Christmas performance.

Not a bad edition so far.

Dad dancing from Peter Powell to start proceedings and even Zoo can't ruin 'Yellow Pearl'

I quite liked the Alton Edwards song back in the day but his vocals and the music sounded a bit flat here. Or flatpack, given what I've just read about his IKEA shenanigans!

'Dead Ringer For Love' is a great song and one which is enhanced by the uncredited Cher. I can remember the poor quality video from the time. It looks like it was filmed on the cheapest video camera that could be found.

I love 'Drowning In Berlin'. A nice, quirky song that kicked off 1982 in fine style.

'Easier Said Than Done' is pleasant enough but Shakatak would take that laid back, almost elevator music style a bit too far in subsequent releases.

Oh Sue, where are you? Without her presence 'I'll Find My way Home' doesn't sound half as good. It certainly doesn't look half as good.

And on to number 1 as 'Don't You Want Me' passes a million sales and more with ease to become the biggest selling single since 'Bright Eyes' in 1979.

Lots of ties around tonight. The lesser recognised fashion statement.

If only she could look a bit more bored out of her mind.

Didn't realise 'Don't You Want Me' stayed at No1 for that long.

Christ, those bodybuilders are grotesque.

"It Must Be Love" just scrapes onto BBC Four at the very last moment.

Well that went by too fast, but felt like the TOTPs I remember from old.

Not keen on the body builders.

Yes, but the camera shot sequence looks very familar - and again Jo is slightly late looking into the camera for the first low level shot. I wonder if they just rehearsed one studio performance for both weeks?

The guys in the budgie smugglers at the end weren't awkward in the slightest.

At all.
