Great track from Stiff Little Fingers. Only got to know it from a compilation I had at the time. I don't recall it on TOTP's.

You'd have thought TOTP could have spared an extra 20 seconds for a Top 5 hit in the charts. Michael Hurll must have had a puritanical attitude about how much time each track could have. (Although it's just occurred to me that this is a repeat from two weeks previously when it was at number 25 or something).

Take the vocals away and this would make a good theme for a gritty early 80s crime drama.

A dance routine? How very punk.

No memory at all of this SLF song, it's not bad though

It's all right. I keep thinking of The Alarm for some reason though.

I've seen this performance before and assumed that Elkie Brooks was American from watching it.

My dad used to play this, and the album it came from, to death. I must've heard it hundreds of times.

Good song, but I prefer Chris Rea's version.

Elkie still kinda hot but not as raunchy as when she was with Robert Palmer.

Agreed. Didn't realise Chris Rea wrote it until a few years ago

Here's Alton Edwards, a full ten years before being imprisoned for fraud.

Alton Edwards is a close relation of Rozalla who had one of my favourite early 90s hits with Everybody's Free. They're both from Zambia.

Simon managed to omit one word from two song titles in that countdown, but we'll let him off given that he actually attempted the titles for once.

Oh, Alton again. It's ok I suppose but would have preferred George Benson.
