It was on the best of Adam and the Ants album which I pretty much played to death throughout the 90s. Probably why I love the those tracks so much because they partly soundtracked my teens.

Yep, a week at No.2. It's one of my fave songs of 1982!

No, their Deborah Harry album didn't turn to gold.

The singer from Survivor looks quite good looking in profile but not so much face on. Meow!

But a lot better looking than Stallone for sure.

We have Staying Alive next year with the ultimate man strutting.

They certainly did, along with the likes of Trevor Horn, Kashif, Arif Mardin and Tony Mansfield. It would be difficult to guess at this time that Nile Rodgers' next collaboration would be with David Bowie and Let's Dance although that was only a few months away.

Was this the same singer in Survivor who sang on 'Burning Heart' from '86?

They've got a gig in the curtain shop. Can't afford to dawdle.

The more I hear this, the more plodding and lumpen it sounds.

We've had a Lion and a Tiger at No1 during 1982.

Don't know, but I love that song. It's soft rock perfection.

It's a shame 'The Message' is a playout song.

Yes! The Message to play out with.

Good show tonight, despite the snipping of Talk Talk.

The Message. Still brilliant after all these years, and sadly still just as relevant.

Like "The Message" as well. Good episode tonight, pity they never played ABC or Talk Talk

A lot of the lyrics of this weren't suitable for broadcast. Also it was the inspiration for the famous maniacal laugh by Phil Collins in Genesis's 1983 hit Mama.

It looks like the video was never played on TOTP's. A shame.

If you switch over to Mastermind on BBC 2 now one of the subjects is David Bowie.

The Message is "Don't push me cause I'm close to the edge" - Got it!

I only know the one about people relieving themselves on train station platforms.

Must say that episode was rather more distinctive for me than normal because it was the first one I listened to on surround sound speakers.
