I totally agree with you.
some of these "repeat broadcast" rules and permission situations are tied up in the long distant past,and have had to be adapted for satellite channel repeats and DVD releases for the present day.
The real question is,Has the now deceased Smith stopped these repeats or are the BBC playing silly buggars to avoid the "sadness" of Sarah Greene ?
No single person (successful or not) should ever be able to prevent others ,who have not done so well in the entertainment field,from getting any much needed repeat fees.
