Correct way of saying it, apparently.

Typical, the one everyone else said wrong at the time is the one Simon Bates got right.

It's been a bland episode so far. Good songs if they were played on their own, but as a compilation it is too much.

Yes!

Brilliant Eddie Grant.

You'd think he'd use one of those chairs having dragged them out there.

This is okay but I much prefer Electric Avenue. It would have been nice for that to be number one and I Don't Wanna Dance to have been number two instead.

Where's he plugged that guitar?

So what exactly was different about this Eddy Grant track compared to his previous ones which caused this one to get to no 1 instead of no 14?

Not sure but I think most of the TOTP presenters pronounced it the correct way.

A greater degree of inoffensiveness and accessibility, I would suggest.

Eddy Grant's second hit in the space of a few weeks, since he wrote Walking On Sunshine.

Trying to look deep and meaningful when you're holding an orange balloon.

Such a shame we miss out on the great backing performance of 'Annie I'm Not Your Daddy'.

O'Dowd's a miserable mimist.

Oh no, Shakin Stevens' balloons are invading the studio.

I would almost certainly have been bored to tears by this episode in 1982. Nothing much has changed in that respect.

Getting a bit like Glastonbury with the flags getting in the way of the shot.

0/10, points taken off for how cringeworthy Bates was.

think manilow was in the country at the time, the only reason his worst record got as high in the charts

Looks like that blond guy in his mid/late 20s who was always in the Top of the Pops studio standing next to the presenters in 1983 and 1984 has finally arrived. I wonder who he was. Anyone know who I mean?

It might have seemed politely worded, but when you analyse the content, it was anything but. Plainly completely insensitive, it might just as well have been phrased 'Let's cut to the chase. Don't care your husband is dead, love. Doesn't concern me.How dare he try and deprive me of my entitled right to watch TOTP episodes as a licence fee payer. (because I deserve it, because I am so important- and you should recognise my importance). Please try and satisfy my demands by overturning your husbands express wishes, as you should know that I am a viewer with rights. And my rights take precedence over any old dead TOPT presenter.'

Karma Chameleon is about their relationship.
