Eddy Grant just walking down the road with his rucksack. Reminds me of the end of every episode of The Incredible Hulk tv series.

sad music plays

Eddy doesn't mind purposefully striding down a street with his guitar case, though.

Good episode - a bit of everything.

Nothing extra in the late edition, as the JK section was the only edit.

The lineup suggested a slightly better editon than it was so a 6.5/10 from me.

Fair to middling edition tonight.

Though having the Zoo boys fighting over who gets to date Barbaras Woodhouse and Cartland will confound me for the rest of the weekend.

A few thoughts on the Mike Smith episode, which I watched this afternoon.

The Hall & Oates performance looked like a studio performance, but not in the TOTP studio. It would have been interesting if they had been in the studio at the same time as Wham, because I can imagine Andrew Ridgley and John Oates getting together backstage to air their grievances - "We're the stars, man - they're holding us BACK!"

Really not that keen on "Jack & Diane" - it just seems like a never-ending stream of rock 'n' roll cliches, lyrically and musically.

Never thought this at the time, but listening to "Living On The Ceiling" now, it seems to have a strong David Byrne influence. Good record, though.

The Diana Ross video is hilarious thanks to the not-so-special effects trying to make us believe that Ms Ross is flying. I quite like the song, though. Nice use of rising and falling dynamics.

It's got one of the greatest lines in pop music history:

"Life goes on, long after the thrill of living has gone".

Ah, John "Pickasurnameandstickwithit" as I used to think of him.

J&D is a classic though, no doubt about it.

Yep, much better than the Hulk films!

Very surreal, no idea why there was a golf theme either

I think most probably thought the same. I certainly did.
I see Andy Overall is on Facebook and has plenty to say about the TOTP repeats.

It's being shown on The Horror Channel at the moment.

It's a bit dated now, they've just had an episode with a Gorilla, played by a man in a bad Gorilla suit.
Sadly a lot of 70s shows have dated badly.

Highway to Heaven isn't too bad but the film quality is low.

I loved 'The Incredible Hulk' as a kid. I have the box set so I'm still a kid at heart I suppose. The series ended prematurely in 1982 so we didn't really get a proper ending. The movies from '88, '89 and '90 weren't so good.
I never watched the updated films. Not the same without Bixby, Ferrigno and Colvin.

Love the blue zoo song, dionnes voice doesnt do it for me, too nasally but its a great song, the live version isnt very good however, looks like she cant be bothered.
state of independence def from the late late breakfast show...terrific ..love all donnas songs.
michael jackson wanted the production sound for his thriller album, probably billie jean.
flock of seaguls should have had more success here. transfer affection ,its not me talking, i ran and space age love song were great.
btw i love guilty by babs and barry. however there were other better single choices on the album. life story and never give up and make it like a memory, terrific album.
wasnt enya in clannad....
never liked that eddy grant song, dont know how it got to the top

Just watched tonight's show. Sinitta was standing next to Kid near the end, the second time she's been on the show I think.

Michael Jackson had a hand in three songs in the charts tonight: The Girls Is Mine, he wrote Muscles by Diane Ross, and sang backing vocals on State of Indepedence.

It amuses me to think that most people listening to The Girl Is Mine probably weren't thinking: "this is going to be the first track to be released from the biggest selling album of all time".
