I've done it again! Completely forgot TOTP 1982 was on tonight. From the comments it doesn't seem like I missed much though...

Cant help but love the bowie Crosby song, still sounds good. Abba reworked Under Attack to make Just like That, an amazing song which they really should have released instead. Under attack is poor by their standards. A rushed track to add on to their best of album

You don't like a group with an exclamation mark after their name !!

I thought Carol Vorderman was standing next to Simon Bates as he introduced Shalamar at the start of his show.

I beg to differ

As has been noted, Simon Groom was in the audience watching Shaky. Wonder if that's where he got the inspiration for his own infamous attempt at singing Elvis...?

Anyone watching the TOTP Wham 'special'?

I'd forgotten just how little Radcliffe's sneering commentary added to these compilations. He really is just a ****.

The songs are often well into the first verse by the time Radcliffe stops prattling on.

Did he need to talk over the vocals at the beginning of each song? By all means talk over the songs intro but once the singing starts SHUT UP!!

George Michael never looked more handsome especially during The Edge Of Heaven performance

What a talent he was

For once I 100% agree with Straker. Radcliffe couldn't even tell the difference between Pepsi and Dee.

He also never seemed more happy than during the Wham! days.

Agreed. He became quite serious as a solo artist but in the Wham! days it was him and his best mate larking about with the two girls with synchronised dance routines

Looking at recent photos of George Michael http://img.soy-chile.cl/Fotos/2015/0...0708123717.jpg and his "best mate" https://s.yimg.com/ny/api/res/1.2/lf...ey-picture.jpg brings home just how much water has passed under the bridge since those Wham! performances first went to air.

I just had to comment and agree with many others that the TOTP'S 2 Wham special was completely ruined by Mark Radcliffe's 'commentary'. Was it meant to be funny? He was still waffling on by the time George got to the first chorus of 'Club Tropicana'.
And the researcher on the show should have been taken out and shot. The online info. suggested that the 'Young Guns...' performance was from July 1981!
They showed 'Wake Me Up...' on the week it was No.1 and suggested it was from July 1984 but it had been knocked off No.1 in June.

Really disappointed.

Have to say that the abuse which 'Cacharpaya' underwent on this forum was predictable. It's pure quality.

Yes it did with North Atlantic's 'I know' However Cacharpaya preceded it by almost a decade. I could have predicted the abuse Cacharpaya would get on this forum - and the posters did not let me down.

For every yin there is a yan.

I loved it , bought it and still listen to it to this day.

Surely someone else out there also can appreciate this wonderfully original piece of music? Then again...
