Did The Jam film their video straight after Hall and Oates had done theirs?

Don't know what 'Love Plus One' is about but I always assumed that after falling out with his girlfriend Anna who subsequently refused to accept his phone calls (Ring Anna, Ring Anna, Ring Anna, Ring Anna) he decided to commit suicide by drowning himself in the lake (Where do we go from here, is it down to the lake I fear).

No, the lyrics evidently "Ring a I Ring an I..." I always thought it was "Anna" though.

I was expecting some to trip up with "Butler/Buckler". Gold stars the pair of you!

Mixed bag of an episode, more ups and downs than the average roller coaster. A solid 7/10 though. Sorry Elkie but you and Adrian dragged that one down a bit.

Wouldn't it be great if they told Weller to f**k off when he mooted reforming The Jam.

[ unlikely I know ]

I think Paul was working recently with Bruce Foxton on his latest project. They seem to have healed the wounds. I get the impression Rick Buckler and Paul Weller don't get on.

I don't think that's ever gonna happen, too much history and bad blood between Weller and Buckler I believe.

A question for all the other people watching/have watched this - I am watching on an almost brand new Samsung TV (courtesy of Carling's "Pay Per Inch" promotion) with it set up in the surround sound mode. Whenever I watch an episode of TOTP, I notice a significant volume drop, does anybody else have the same problem? And does anybody know if this is because the programme is in mono? Of course, I can turn the volume up, but I'm interested in why this happens, if anybody can tell me more.

I always have a volume drop when TOTP's comes on too. I'm sure someone in the know will be able to explain.

My volumes fine but, I do get an irritating little volume drop lasting about 3 seconds and then it recovers to whatever it was if I press the 'info' button on my remote during the show to bring up the episode guide and remind me whose coming up next. I don't think that really answers your question or is relevant though, but, its blooming annoying! And I've always wondered why that happens as I've never noticed it do so on any other programmes.

Golden Brown's another 'Vienna' for me. Mass appeal but not to myself.
Or 'Winner Takes it All' for me (as in an overrated song that everyone seems to like)

I do like Golden Brown - but not as much as their late 70s punk stuff!

Was she 16 here? I think she's doing quite well these days IIRC from reading her entry on Wiki.
I always thought she was just 14 or 15!!
