Well - I'm a bit late tonight - got lots on this weekend - but not a bad show, all in all!

Wasnt their first hit "Really Saying Something" about a month later, which I seem to remember featured FB3?

That was the follow up to tonight's song.

Their debut single was, I believe, 'Aie a Mwana', which is a great song but it failed to chart.

Ha! Well indeed. Still mystifies me that Ursula. Out of interest and if you've ever commented on it, apologies I forget, but did you like 'Day Before You Came'?

Hmmm - I'm undecided about that one too!! To be honest as soon as Agnetha cut her hair - I lost interest in Abba after that & their 'let's sound mature' style!!

It has very strong competition from

"She's a model and she's looking good
I'd like to take her home, that's understood."

I believe so yes. We'll soon be getting 'Deutscher Girls' by the original Adam and the Ants on TOTPs. It's only danced to by Zoo though.

I think the problem is, that if you call a song "Classic". you also have to make sure that it is. Having said that, it's unlikely that anybody would ever write a song called "Absolute Drivel".

Google translate from the original German is good for a laugh:

She's a model and she looks good
I would take today 'happy with me to my house
you plays hard, she comes to no one' ran
before the camera, she shows what she can

All making perfect sense of course!

Bit harsh, but agreed she did look better with it longer though, particularly around the time of 'Take A Chance...' for me. Although, having said that, after a couple of distinctly dodgy 'looks' via the Super Trouper and One Of Us videos I thought by the time of DBYC she was back to looking close to her extraordinarily magnificent looking best.

Obviously not enough people in record shops, waving guns about and shouting "You must buy this record! You must buy this record!"

It's actually draped over the bassist's shoulders (yes, I thought the same as you - Nick Heyward/biggest jumper, surely there 's a joke there somewhere!)

Yes. an absolute classic -but at the same time, an indication of where Paul Weller was going musically, and possibly why he left/disbanded the Jam to form the Style Council.

These days anybody can do it - you just have to win a crap TV competition (and be able to put up wth Cowell's smug, gurning face for the duration of said competition).

That's correct, on every appearance she made on Top Of The Pops (all in 1982) she was 15.

But he must have had second thoughts - I can't remember any other H100 hits, but he did release a brilliant single called "Warning Sign", which apparently the record company didn't want to put out because it was so unlike anything he'd done previously.

And, surely, isn't "Love + 1" about having a threesome?

The other two what? Of course if you are referring the Jam, it's Bruce Foxton on bass, and Rick Buckler on drums. (I didn't need to google it, as I've been a fan since about the first time I heard "In The City").
