Were the vocals as weird as this on the record?

Don't remember that at all??

Not the best of songs by Robert Palmer...

Phew, I thought Mike was going "ooooooo" all the way through it.

I'm all 'wimoweh'd' out and it's not even No.1 yet!

I could be wrong, but I think they may be miming this.

Is this the same performance as 28th January? They're certainly wearing the same clothes.

Did all women back then aspire for that Page 3 look? My memory is clouded by too much cheap cider to fully recall.

This is bad for me now as it was back then. Tripe. An obvious edit candidate not edited.

I would have edited the three-in-a-row of The Jets, Robert Palmer and Tight Fit if it had been up to me. Already fed up with 'Lion' and it's not even got to no. 1 yet.

I'm sure someone else said that lions don't actually live in the jungle and if they did they wouldn't sleep at night, that's when they hunt.

If there's one thing i cant stand it's being lied to by cheesy 80's bands

Mike Read was always the frustrated pop star.

Strangely lethargic performance here from Tight Fit.

I'm sure they showed much more energy when they did this the first time round.

Good lord.
I don't recall those feral grunts during Robert Palmer's "some guys have all the luck".

Not sure. All of their performances of this are going to morph into one for me!

Good grief, it's Tight Fit. Somehow this record sold 930,000 copies back in 1982!

Fairly obvious Fairbrass sighting here.

And a wannabe Andrew Lloyd Webber at one point, he failed at that too! I think his musical closed after the first night or something.

Is this one of those Musicians Union-mandated re-recordings?

Blimey, that's not the angle to go with that skirt.

Yay, Toni Basil. Funnily enough, I didn't like this at the time but grew to really like it over the years.

The former Chancellor George Osborne purchased 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' as his first single at the age of ten.
