Glad we're getting the 'Jockey' joke. I think that edition's Yewtree'd.

That's not true - they appeared again on TOTP with the reissue of 'Celtic Soul Brothers' early the following year.

Oh so that really was Boy George dancing. Looked totally different, thinner than usual.

Pretty thin when he was on horse. Then he bloated out and started drawing a jawline on. Fooled everybody that did....

George might look feminine but not someone I would fancy.

The best band of 1982 were Japan IMO. I bet they don't get mentioned on this programme.
No, that would be Soft Cell. (Say Hello Wave Goodbye, Torch, What, Where The Heart Is). Japan were very good too though!

Culture Club. Very, very interesting and ground breaking in some ways, but never really understood the appeal personally.

Was he doing drugs at that time? When we first saw him dancing?

New Order - Worst live band I've ever seen.

His heroin phase came later. IIRC he was very anti-drugs early on.

...

Not a great programme that. Too much time spent on rubbish and irrelevant oddities.

For me New Order are like the Pet Shop Boys. Brilliant songs in there but performed by an utterly ordinary and pretty awful vocalist.

Story of '82 was just alright. Bring on the big hits! Should be better.

None of the 5 performances of 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' are affected by Yewtree! Sods Law eh? Not sure why they played it on the Big Hits show.
