Did OMD use the Ant Rap video set after Adam had finished with it?

It was about Oscar Wilde.

On the same night a cracking musical about Mike Read went down a storm in his attic.

No. 3 fits the bill!

Soft Cell had two of the best hits of 1982 IMO with SHWG and Torch. Where The Heart Is wasn't bad either.

Not a great fan of "Precious"....

Did someone say the bassline sounds a bit like Papa's Got A Brand New Pigbag the other day? First time I've heard this and quite like it.

Now that's a centre parting.

Q: Has Paul Weller ever had a decent haircut?

A: No. No he hasn't.

'Precious' sounds a bit like a speeded up version of The Style Council's 'Money Go Round'

I've seen swish curtains that are less ruthlessly divided!

I prefer that song to this one. MGR was very good lyrically.

Oh, this is good, it's like a mini Jam concert*!!

*But with an irritating audience.

As I posted last week, the bassline to 'Precious' sounds like a total rip-off of 'Papa's Got A Brand New Pig Bag' by Pigbag.

We won't see the final week of 'Town Called Malice' at No.1 on BBC4.

"Do you wanna cut down on beer or the kids new gear, it's a big decision in a Town Called Malice". Great lyric.

'Town Called Malice' still sounds brilliant.

OMG. Just realised its presumably Tight Fit who knock The Jam off number 1. Borderline criminal offence.

Wasn't that the first time since The Beatles that an act was allowed to play both sides of a double 'A' No.1 on TOTP's?

There are very few lines in Town Called Malice that aren't great - "rows and rows of disused milk floats stand dying in the dairy yard" (very evocative, although difficult to sing) - "ghost of a steam train echoes down my track" - wonderful!

For me that episode got better as it went on. Bonus point for them letting The Jam do both sides there, certainly reflects just how huge the group were at the time.
6/10.
