I'd rather have seen Pluto than Julio.

Complete crap from Julio. Nothing else to say about it really

I'm sure I bought this Julio single for my mum. It must have been for Mother's Day judging by the time of year.

I'm naming no names. You just never know who's reading.

To be honest I didn't have a name in mind, just a rather more general vibe on "things" in early 1982.

This seems like such a wallpaper song and yet it somehow got to No. 3 in the charts.

In the eighties, Julio's hide was highly sought after by high-end shoe designers due to its combination of suppleness & unusual colouring. He was nearly hunted to extinction before being designated a protected species.

Enough already Julio. I don't mind his vocals though.

This Julio single is no Begin The Beguine. It did remarkably well to hit No3.

I had no idea that Julio had more than one hit single.

Depeche Mode official policy at this time was that both pronunciations were correct, although they apparently preferred the French sounding version.

how did they have such uncool deejays and presenters back then

This is unusual — a fourth performance on Top of the Pops for a single, with Love Plus One.

"It's Guess Who"? - Is that another way of saying you can't remember Simes?!

Nick Heyward expecting an imminent rainstorm in the studio?

Were Dave Gahan and Nick Heyward having a contest as to who could look the youngest?

Amazingly, they were considered cool. I blame the 70's and Thatcher.

Haircut 100 is a vast improvement on Julio who was the only downside of the show so far

They must have been awfully warm in all those layers tho

He had a duet with Willie Nelson with 'To All the Girls I've Loved Before' in '84.

He had a duet with Stevie Wonder which reached No5 in late summer 1988. Remember "My Love"? That was a decent track.

why did every band have to be styled so much back then, dunno who they got their clothes from, certainly not what kids were wearing back then

My thoughts exactly, although I didn't hear it for the first time until about 1998.

You can so tell that Nick was a very shy boy back then.
