The DC-TVU Thread
I know there's people around here who watch these shows, some of which only watch certain ones, and some that are watching them at a different pace to others. For a general discussion on the existing and potentially upcoming DC TV shows though, I'd like us to all congregate here when discussing either events of the DC Universe (references and such), or to discuss the crossover episodes.
So, who've we got at the moment? * Arrow * Flash * Supergirl (moving to the CW Network for Season 2) * Legends of Tomorrow For the safe viewing of all involved here, I'll request spoiler tags for discussing anything that is episode centric. If you're going to review or quote from an episode, use spoiler tags. if you don't know how to do them; [ spoiler ] whatever you want to write goes here [ / spoiler] You just remove the spaces. You should then get something like this:
Spoiler
If you wish to discuss comic based stuff, then you should be free to do so, because it's all rumour and speculation anyway (comics often serve as a basis for our shows, and are not conclusive. Please do use spoiler tags for interviews, episode reviews and such though. This topic should allow for UK and US paced discussion, without giving anything away. Thanks! |

http://comicbook.com/dc/2016/07/08/a...-all-of-the-c/ Constantine wasn't a great show but I really liked the lead actor's take on the role. If they pitched the show like the "fun" episodes of the X-Files, that'd be perfect. |

So will MM just slide in from the shadows in each show, say something cryptic/evil, then slide out again? It's pretty much what he's been doing all the time in Arrow since season 2.

Good news all around from what I can tell, though my only hope is that Barrowman is more cameo than plot; him being a main character on Arrow has run it's course. Quote:

Loving the fact we're getting Constantine back though, however I'm not quite expecting him to appear on Flash or Supergirl. Easily Arrow, and Legends (hopefully, maybe next year, full time as one of the crew). Would be nice if his comrades joined him, but I suspect they're tied up in other roles now. |

I have watched them all and love em all. I am happy that Supergirl got moved to the same network. It will make for better crossover episodes. It is gonna be a blast when the next seasons of all the above 4 start again.
Arrow spoiler below: (do not click to reveal if you have not watched all seasons and episodes of it yet.)
Spoiler
But the flash is getting really good now too. But i am not too keen on legends of tomorrow, it is a bit weak, but the season finale left a nice cliffhanger that makes us want to watch the next season. It looked interesting too. But i think it might be a bit Meh the next season of that show. |

Its a bit cringe-worthy at times, but i always liked John Barrowman when he was in torchwood. god i miss that show soo much, the US last season of that show ruined it though. |

Not him plus the rest of his gang. ![]() The rumors are that John will be in and out among the shows if they can work around the actor's schedule. He's signed for a series or something in the UK and that gives CW a chance to gauge fan reaction for a Season 2. |

I hated the news that he had been cast in this, but he won me over almost as soon as he appeared. It's such a shame to see what they've done to him for the sake of now wanting to let JB go. |

MM the business man is dead, Oliver has surpassed him as a fighter, and Thea threatens to kill him every time she sees him. All he does is randomly appear, tells people he used to be Ra's Al-Ghul, calls Oliver weak, tell Thea he would do anything to keep her safe, then skulks off into the shadows......

I actually stopped watch Arrow a few episodes in last season, just BORED. Oliver started on the island now its more and more oh was trained secret unit etc. Too much going back to he did this and he did that before coming back to Star city. The big bad this season was just dump. Glad Laurel is gone though couldn't stand her from day one. |

![]() ... ... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm sorry but I couldn't stand the character. Her and his other collective made it feel like he wasn't the star of his own show. I felt the series would've been a big bunch of better had it focused on him doing his Constantine stuff with various people helping out along the way, but the main focus being him. Something the movie with Keanu did so darn well. |

then again, I quite like JB so I find his snark on Arrow quite amusing. Not sure if it wouldn't get a bit irritating if he started popping up everywhere else though.

With characters able to pop between shows it'd be kinda amazing if one week NO-ONE from their own show appeared in their own show. Instead they appeared in another hero's show. I don't know, have some kinda big bad transfer them between each others worlds/cities/times as a kinda elseworld what-if scenerio. Like if Barry had been marooned on that island, Oliver was a time traveller, Kara was struck by lightning and the Legends group had been sent from Krypton to protect a royal Kryton baby. (or something like that).

Yeah I've just seen that photo and it seems they have gone with the pre New 52 costume for Kid Flash
I was surprised to see this photo released so soon though as I thought they may keep it for a surprise in the show but it will be interesting to see how he fits into the universe after the events of Flash season two finale! |

Short of the brothers, and Castiel (and Crowley, who by definition are the four stars of the show now) which other characters have been around for seven years?

That is down to the fans loving them.

Is Kid Flash going to exist instead of The Flash (because Barry played up the timeline)? Is Kid Flash going to exist after Barry fixes the timeline? Is Kid Flash going to be the one who fixes the timeline? Quite a few other options too, and it's almost guaranteed that there will be some clever (or really really dumb) explanation for it. |

We'll get a mini flash back to just before Barry leaves to Flashpoint the 4 series. This flashback will show Kid Flash in his new costume being all "wowzers, this is soooo cool".
![]() Then Flashpoint will kick in and one effect will be to remove Kid Flash's newly obtained powers and we'll see him being all "ahhh shucks, this blooooows".

I like the Kid Flash costume, nice to see it's pre Flashpoint/New-52 and the reason there's no full hood is because his identity as Wally West isn't a secret if I remember rightly, been a while since I've read any from that far back though. Also interesting that they've announced they're bringing back Artemis as her and Wally are a thing in the Junior Justice League but Madison McLaughlin's probably a bit too young and she's obviously also not the "traditional" Artemis Crock from the Comics. I suppose he can always blur himself in public. It'll be interesting to see how this develops, because (if I'm right) Kid Flash is (eventually) faster than Barry, so who will the show end up being about? Barry, Wally, or another? Even Arrow (which is a team based show) focuses more on Oliver Queen than any other character.Quote:

His identify seems irrelevant, it's just that it looks kind of odd.

Even Arrow (which is a team based show) focuses more on Oliver Queen than any other character. Who? they retconned that as well so Wally stopped being faster than light and dropped him back down to being faster than sound during the Crisis on Infinite Earths series. They gave him a mystery illness they never explained then later on said it was because he was a child when he got the chemical/struck by lightning combo to give him his powers. Then they retconned it again and had it be a mental block that he was deliberately not being as fast as Barry used to be when he took over as The Flash and had Eobard Thawne go up against him which forced him past the blockage and he became faster. He couldn't ever vibrate though but had other different powers than Barry. Artemis is on Arrow, the teenage girl they had a few episodes ago, Evelyn Sharp, who faked being Black Canary for a while. |
