Buy the album 'Arc'.

You'll love it. Perfect introduction to Neil Young.

I'd preview it on YouTube first if I were you.

It's like a prolonged cover version of the ending of Spunk Rock by Man.

Yeah sorry, that was mean.

Try the soundtrack to Dead Man instead,

On the Neil Young debate - sorry to highjack the thread - is anyone going to see his current tour? Apparently he's playing The Needle and the Damage Done and After the Goldrush. Can't wait for the Leeds gig, particularly with Laura Marling supporting..,

As for favourite songs, i would have to go for the first song i ever heard, rifling through my parent's record collection, i was about age 13/14 and saw this copy of a Crosby, Stills and Nash LP, Deja Vu, it looked ancient, this would have been in the early 90s and being at that curious age and coming from a musical background, i had a listen and the song 'Helpless' floored me, the combination of his voice with those lyrics and instrumentation, i'll never forget it...of course afterwards i found After the Goldrush album in their collection and it all began. Different songs come and go as favourites over the years. Last night at the gig..Harvest Moon took me by complete surprise emotionally, whatever way he performed it, Down by the River was like getting high haha i'm still floating so maybe it isn't a great time to pick a favourite!

Oh thanks for that! I can't wait. I saw him in Newcastle in 2013. He was very good, but he was....difficult. It was The Psychedelic Pill tour and for all I love those songs they're far too long on record. Live, it was interesting but rarely brilliant. I'm told he's playing a lot of his earlier stuff on this tour so this will be up there with being born for me.

I saw him in Belfast on Tues night and he blew me away. Near as dammit 3 hours on stage without a break which would be impressive for a person have his age. Laura Marling was very good, she did a rendition of the Townes Van Zandt song Waiting Around to Die (a song I love).

Anyway to the thread topic, I am rather fond of Someday

Fabulous! Down By The River a real highlight, but the opening very nearly made me cry. Loved his shout out to Donald Trump during Rocking In The Free World, too.
