I'm surprised nobody is over analysing it asking why didn't Den just insist on total proof. There were a couple of lines (Den not liking medical details, etc) which perhaps were intended to cover it. One thing is for sure other than the Firm stuff (for Den's last episodes, etc) its probably as close to "sensationalism" as the show got in the 80's.

I wish BBC would show the whole show from the beginning on BBC4, they are missing out and so are we. I wish ITV would do the same with Emmerdale too. ITV have enough channels, they could easily fit it in.

I would love to watch the episodes from before i got into soaps.

Yeah, agreed. They think they can just show classic episodes and that satisfies people, you need the build and the aftermath.

Ie - when they re-show Arthur having a breakdown...that isn't it, he isn't just carted off to a mental home immediately, there's a few more weeks of it before that happens, plus in the episode before it, he has a go at Pete something rotten, you can't appreciate that performance until you see the whole arc really.
