Sword Swallower will have too pre record his act and it's too dangerous to show it on live semi finals.

Is this a fact or an opinion?

Couldn't they have a delay or something instead of recording it earlier? Lets a lot of the excitement out of it for the viewing audience. If it gets recorded and gets shown we already know it was safe and takes the point out of the high risk

I don't think a delay would work, might take a while to clean the blood off the stage a fetch his head after it rolls into the first row of the audience.

So if he wins the series are they going to pre record his appearance on the Royal Variety Show?

They'd probably pay him off not to go on the show. After all he wants the fame BGT brings not the Royal Variety Show.

He won't win anyway as he's neither canine or a singer.

They pre-recorded the cycle display team before - ostensibly because they were an outside act but they could have easily gone to an ad break whilst they returned to the studio.

I can understand why they're nervous and, after what happened with Ben tonight, I can't see them changing their minds!

Yes, it's a bit like Derren Brown's Russian Roulette; they did the final, "shooting" part of that on a "live delay" so you basically knew when you saw it go out that nothing had gone wrong. (Not that that didn't stop this being brilliant telly.)

I find these sorts of acts on BGT a bit boring, for just this reason

Except that the dangerous acts are always fine. I'm quite glad though, found him nauseating as opposed to entertaining and taking the element of danger out of it for the semifinal (he survives or they wouldn't show it) probably lessens the appeal of his act generally.

So you'd rather they rush the setup and put him at risk then ?

You might all be being a bit harsh.... The reasons given in the article of it taking too long to set up his act and it not being sensible to rush it seem quite reasonable to me.
He will still be performing in front of a live audience and were it not for the need to be entirely transparent, we need never have known the difference.
I am also pretty sure her maj is as interested in Moldovan sword men as she is in one direction. Possibly more so....

Guess what?

I have come to the conclusion that each and every thread in this forum is just an excuse for the same few to have a moan.*yawn*

Thank goodness it is pre-recorded anyway. Who, in their right mind, would want a serious accident broadcast live?

Strange that they feel they need to do this when 99.9% of "Live" TV has a delay on it already just for the sake of something happening that they don't want broadcast. Big Brother has had a delay for years. So if something goes wrong, they have enough time to just cut to adverts or an announcement.

I really want this guy to win this year. It would just be very refreshing to see an act like this, which goes against the tradition of talent show winners, finally win the competition.
BUT……
I very much doubt he will because of three reasons:
1) He’s on tonight with a lot of the main singing and dancing acts.
2) People don’t ring up and vote for these kind of acts, so they never do very well in the public vote.
3) I hope not to sound racist, but because he is of Moldavion descent, I think people may not support him as he is not British.

No, but there would be no need to rush it.
