I think this is right. She works well with Shirley and Sharon and has been good in getting these two together more amicably. It's a shame she wasn't more involved in the Martin struggling storyline as it would have been a well grounded storyline playing to strengths of character. Pity she got involved in Bobby stuff as it hasn't helped her characterisation.

I think it was mentioned elsewhere but Kathy saying Jane being beaten to almost death was an accident and what Jane would have wanted was not only completely out of character but also hilarious

I think Kathy's return playing alongside Psycho Bobby was a bad idea. Or at least playing alongside another year of the Beales covering for Bobby rather than dealing with his issues was the mistake. Kathy taking charge of the family and forcing Ian and Jane to accept what Bobby is would have made more sense for the character and justified her resurrection.
