Britney Spears will be performing LIVE at The 2016 Billboard Music Awards tonight in Las Vegas. She will be opening the show with a 7 minute medley performance of her greatest hits and will also be the recipient of the Billboard Millenium Award for her exceptional achievements and influence in the music industry.

I for one can't wait to see Britney back in action especially as this will be her first solo television awards show performance in almost 9 years! It'll be interesting to see the level of performance now that she seems to finally have put her troubled past behind her and seems to be in a much more positive state of mind.

Are you excited?

I meant she'll be there live performing at the event rather than a pre-recorded performance like she did last year with Iggy Azalea.

God please let her use pre-recorded vocals. Lord only knows the amount of flack she'll get if she just lip-synchs to the studio recordings.

I'm hoping the same.... Pre-recorded vocals all the way! Lip synching to studio recordings would be very lazy.

I really want to know which songs she will perform and who will present to her the Billboard Millenium Award.... I think Madonna would be a fitting choice.

Or maybe she could, I don't know, sing live for once.

WOW! She did it again! As a Britney fan I'm so thrilled to have just watched her put on such a brilliant performance. It's been quite a long road but she's done it! So proud.

BRITNEY IS BACK!

Oh and she looked RED HOT!

You actually mean that,don't you!

Is it not pathetic that the alternative to miming the song would be to mime a different vocal ?

The set list was the same as the one that was leaked and has been all over Instagram. The performance was like a mini Piece Of Me. It was a really good performance although she did look a little stiff at first but then really got into it during the Womanizer dance break. The Set List is:

Work Bitch
Womanizer
I Love Rock 'n' Roll
Breathe On Me
I'm A Slave 4 U
Touch of My Hand
Toxic

The Performance can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/Ocp35fcZtj8

The Vegas residency has done wonders. Britney is back to her best! Love that the underrated Breathe On Me and Touch of My Hand got an airing for the masses.

For some reason I am unable to edit my post.

The link to the video I had uploaded has been taken down as have many others if not all.

I am SLAYED. She did it! So proud of her, no new songs but she certainly breathed new life into the old ones, and those pre-recorded vocals! She looked like the was having the most fun during I Love Rock n Roll, Slave and Toxic. So happy for her, just looked online and she is getting a whole ton of praise.

I thought that was absolutely awful. I actually like Britney as a person and she has a fantastic back catalogue of pop songs...have lost count of the amount of times I've been in a club and it goes crazy when a Britney song comes on. However, in terms of actually performing and singing, she's just terrible. She's a bloody mime artist for god sake. This performance was a million times better than her Gimme More performance when she wasn't well (which was a complete car crash), but even so it was still very bad. Her dancing is very painting by numbers and always has been...it's all *this arm here, that leg there* etc and there's no fluidity to her movements whatsoever. You can tell her mind is constantly on what limb she's going to move next. Nothing feels organic or natural about her dancing. It puzzles me that people actually pay money to go and see her in Las Vegas. Listening to her music on the radio, dancing to her in a club...fantastic. Even watching her music videos, they're great as like every other artist they're edited. Any sort of live performance she does though is just terrible. On a positive note, she's looking the best she has looked in years and seems to be in good health which is great.

Master Ozzy I completely agree with everything you said. Big fan of Britney's music, in terms of listening to it or dancing to it if it comes on in a club, but in terms of seeing her perform it? She's terrible. Every time she has a new single or award show performance, people get all hyped up about how she's back and like the good old days.

It made my younger self so sad to watch this. She's unbelievably stiff, there's no sense of real enjoyment from her as spying can see she's concentrating so hard on performing very basic dance moves. She can't even lip sync that well, it was all over the place.

It made me uncomfortable to watch if I'm honest, I couldn't detect new vocals (although at certain points it did sound very faintly like two people were singing) and for her to have the audacity to lip sync so badly, whilst performing so stiffly whilst also accepting this award that not that many people have been awarded with, is quite frankly a piss-take.

I would love more than anything for Britney to improve, breathe some life into her movements, actually sing live, look like she's enjoying what she's doing - but I just don't think it'll ever happen.

As a musician, I found her performance insulting. How she and her team can justify that performance and that some people even think it was worthy of somebody of her fame and industry is beyond me. What ever happened to LIVE performances? Passion? Being able to do what you're celebrated for? Of course Britney's never been celebrated as a great singer but she never really tries anymore, and her dancing is just as bad - so I'm not really sure what the point is?

She's a terrible performer and this proves this. Which is a shame if you look back at her early career tours.

She's one of the worst offenders in miming. She makes it look obvious

Her dancing is absolutely pathetic. She walks around, shakes her hips and waves her arms in the air. That is not dancing at all. I don't know whether she can bothered or whether the knee injury she suffered back in 2003 has never allowed her to recover.

She always looks robotic. No chemistry with her dancers or the audience. As if someone is holding a gun to her head and forcing her to perform.

I love Britney. I am not a hater. Big fan actually. But she can't put on a show to save her life. I feel sorry for all those people who shell out all that money and also those fans who come all around the world to watch her shambles of a Vegas show.

I'm baffled as to why she can't even attempt to just sing behind the backing trap the likes of Beyonce, katy Perry do it all the time I find it inexcusable there's just no attempt whatsoever at singing even the less energetic bits

You can tell she's very stiff and awkward here particularly in the first 2 songs, but from rock n roll onwards you can see she's hitting her stride and by the end she seems pretty comfortable with it all.

Great that she performed a couple of album tracks with so many hits to choose from, she looks incredible atm

She's an embarrassment tbh. I'd forgive her miming if her dancing actually showed some significant technical skill but she's so wooden with every movement and looks like she hates being there. Why does she even bother wearing a mic to mime to the track anyway? She may as well just dance to the music as it looks so awful when she mimes so blatantly.

What ever happened to passion and live performances that actually wow? Well look at another performance from last night (from another artist not known for her vocal ability) and you'll see exactly that:

Embarrassing that there's even a thread on Britney's performance when other artists were delivering things like this.

Yes she certainly is, this thread belongs in the showbiz forum, certainly not a music forum.

Britney KILLED that performance. Very good selection of songs and didn't just go with the obvious ones.

And for those saying she doesn't perform go see her in Vegas, she puts on the best show and performance and she's mimed for years, I don't really see why people still get so angry about it, not a big deal.

Love how much praise she is getting online. As a Britney fan it's so nice to see back at her best.

The negative criticism in this thread is basically coming from bitter queens who obviously think they know what it takes to be a pop star and should be up there instead of Britney.... Oh but wait your not up there your sat behind a screen and keyboard.

Return to form for Britney. She nailed it.👌🏻

I thought she done well, yes as I've said previously she looks stiff at the start but seems to get into it during the Womanizer Dance Break. Although I don't really get everybody moaning about her miming when she's been doing it for nearly her whole career with the odd live performance here and there in the early years.

Looking at videos from her recent Vegas Residency Performances her dancing as been a lot better than it has been previously on her shows in Vegas and her previous tours and it looks like she's been putting a lot more into her dancing during these revamped shows. In her performance here she had a big stage to cover so she was going to have to walk around to get to one part of the stage to another but she did put effort into her dancing more than some of her previous performances.

Britney has an amazing back catalogue of hits and it shows here. You can't deny that you didn't love hearing some of her hits

I don't think it's embarrassing to have a thread on Britney's Performance, she has millions of fans around the world and everyone has their opinion whether it be positive or negative on something and isn't this a forum where things can be discussed and opinionated on? Although I thought there would have been a full thread for the BBMAs?

As a musician, I found her performance insulting. How she and her team can justify that performance and that some people even think it was worthy of somebody of her fame and industry is beyond me. What ever happened to LIVE performances? Passion? Being able to do what you're celebrated for? As for this, it's laughable and I don't mean that to be hurtful. Most of this has been long gone for a while now and I'm not just referring to Britney in case anyone thinks that I am.

In my opinion all of the passion etc has gone and I don't believe it's just down to the artist. Everyone from Record Labels to Management seem to more fixated on other things now such as how much money can we make from him/her/them before their time is up. As well as it being about getting that number one, that sell out tour, who's the biggest star etc. I mean just look at the X Factor. Last years UK Winner never got anywhere near the top spot of the charts and I think that annoyed a lot of people especially Cowell although I doubt it did that much as he still got paid for it being his show and for him being on the panel but it might have lost his label some money. They'll be hoping her new material will do much better or she will be binned.

It's not really about the music anymore it's all about the money. As they say money talks. Which is a shame because it could seriously cause some damage some day.

Performance can be viewed here as can others from the BBMAs: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4...bbma_lifestyle
