Went mad and placed a bet on a 5-1 correct score for England to beat Slovakia at 150/1. The assumption is we'll get our act together and pummel them but Hamsik will get one back. Fiver down the toilet I suppose!!
The second more sober bet is Rooney first goalscorer with England 2-1 win. 40/1. Thought that was good value. |

Poland actually seem to be the most balanced team at the moment, followed by Italy and Spain. If Lewa can start getting on the scoresheet I can honestly see POland lifting the trophy.

33/1. Odds will fall when they confirm their place in the next round.

If France were genuinely trying to beat Switzerland and weren't just rolling the ball around for a draw, I'm afraid my early predictions for them to win the tournament could not have been more premature

I'm expecting Portugal to get their act together and beat Hungary. Hungary didn't look that great against Iceland.

I haven't bet any money but I would never bet against Germany.
They always seem to be able to manage to do it.........somehow. |

Seems like my France v Spain final prediction is out of the window after last night. Fair play to Croatia.

Still have Spain to win - knew Croatia was going to be a tough fixture but didn't see that result coming!

I now realise what England have done (*palm face*) by not beating Russia or Slovakia and coming second to Wales! They are now stuck on the same side as France, Germany, Italy, Spain etc instead of facing the likes of Northern Ireland, Switzerland, Poland, Belgium etc. Croatia now practically have a free pass to the final. I can't see anyone even challenging them. Spain are also complete idiots for not taking Croatia seriously, but at least Spain are strong enough to beat anyone on a good day whereas England have just atrificially made their task impossible. On the other hand, Wales could very well get to the semi-final.

It's the best side to be on as far as I'm concerned. Snowball's chance in hell and all that, but what a potential lineup of games.

On the other side of the draw though you have a bunch of joke teams crawling up. I can't see anyone stopping Croatia until the final. |

It will be a rare time where I will be hoping Italy win.. Can't stamd Spain (not as much as I can't stand portugal). I have a a chance for ticket to qtr final in Paris, which could be England v France, but can't justify the cost and hassle for a one day trip.. Going to go to Marseille for a few days for the semi

I've always been pro-Italy where it doesn't clash with England, I blame James Richardson and Channel 4. 2006 was the second best it could have been for me.

Richardson was excellent in the 90s... He's become a bit too cocky in recent years...
